Azharuddin to get Rs. 1.5 cr as BCCI clears his claim

Mumbai: Mr. Mohammed Azharuddin to get around Rs. 1.5 crore as Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) cleared his claim.

According to a report published in Sport Star, after the 88th Annual General Meeting, Mr. Sourav Ganguly, President of the Board confirmed that the BCCI has cleared the claim made by Mr. Azharuddin.

It may be recalled that earlier, Mr. C. K. Khanna, Acting President of BCCI told media persons that the Board has no reason to challenge the claim made by Mr. Azharuddin, however, it is the Committee of Administrators which has to take further action.

Match-fixing allegation

It may be mentioned that Mr. Azharuddin’s due has been pending on account of the match-fixing allegation leveled against him.

After the verdict of the then High Court of Andhra Pradesh, the former captain has been demanding his dues.

Azharuddin’s suggestion for IPL

Meanwhile, Mr. Azharuddin who is the President of Hyderabad Cricket Association suggested that every IPL franchise should appoint Indian head coaches.

Responding to the suggestion, one of the members of Governing Council of IPL said that the decision to appoint Indian head coach is up to franchise.
