February 23:

Eleven MLAs of Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) were suspended from the State Legislative Assembly for two days for disrupting the proceedings of the House here on Wednesday.

As soon as the House met on Wednesday at 9 am, Telugu Desam Party gave an adjournment seeking discussions on liquor scam. The TRS and BJP wanted the House to introduce Telangana resolution. While the MIM wanted debate on issuing of job notifications in Urdu language, the CPI stressed for discussion on drought situation and CPM wanted the regularization of IKP employees.

However, Speaker Nadendla Manohar's decision to disallow all the adjournment motions led to pandemonium and furore. The Speaker then adjourned the House for half-an-hour.

Similar scenes were witnessed when the House re-assembled at 11.30 am. The TRS members rushed to Speaker's podium demanding Telangana resolution. Having failed to convince the TRS members to resume their seats, the Speaker asked Roads and Buildings Minister Dharmana Prasad to move the resolution for suspension of 11 TRS MLAs for two days. Despite suspension, the TRS MLAs refused to leave the House and were evicted by the marshals.

Later, the BJP and CPI MLAs staged out a walk-out in protest against the suspension of TRS members. (INN)
