September 18:

Anantapur, September 18: A 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth at Bhagat Singh Nagar in Tadipatari on Friday. The incident came to light when the victim’s parents lodged a complaint with the local police on Saturday.

According to sources, 17-year-old Pandu, a neighbour of the victim, took the girl on his two-wheeler, on the pr-etext of offering her a chocolate. But he took the girl to thorny bushes in the Government junior College. He alle-gedly muffled her mou-th with cloth pieces and raped her several tim-es. The girl reportedly lost consciousness following heavy bleeding. The parents searched for her in the town before finding her at midnight on Saturday. The girl told her parents that Pandu raped her. The girl was sent to government hospital in Anantapur for medical tests. Police inspected the spot and enquired about the incident.
