Riyadh, August 17: The Saudi British Bank (SABB) continued for the third consecutive year its program to help orphans perform Umrah during the holy month of Ramadan.
As a major contributor to the Umrah program created and managed by the Charity Society for Orphans Care (Ensan), SABB covered the expenses of 245 orphans to perform the minor pilgrimage.
Ibrahim Abomouti, head of corporate communications at SABB, said: "SABB's philanthropic initiatives come in line with the bank's longstanding and comprehensive social responsibility program. SABB strongly believes in supporting the orphans and empowering them in all circumstances and occasions to overcome the obstacles and difficulties they may encounter. Umrah is often a spiritually sought-after dream for the orphans that the bank is delighted to fulfill.”
The holy Ramadan is a very special month during which people should be charitable and communicate with all members of the community, Abomouti added. He expressed his thanks and appreciation to Ensan for its efforts to make the imitative a success.
SABB is playing a leading role to serve the community in the Kingdom as well as encourage and support the activities undertaken by charitable societies and help them achieve their goals. The bank focuses on three main themes in community service: learning and development programs, social programs, and environmental programs.
