Islamabad, September 21: Banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi militants on Tuesday shot dead 28 Shia Muslims in two back-to-back attacks that also left several injured in the restive Balochistan province of southwest Pakistan.
In the first incident, gunmen forced the pilgrims going to Iran out of a bus, lined them up and sprayed bullets killing 26 of them on the spot and leaving six more seriously injured. This is was one of the most brutal attacks on the minority community in the recent past.
The bus was going from provincial capital Quetta to the border town of Taftan.
The injured were taken to hospitals in Quetta, located about 40 km from Mastung.
Shortly after the attack on the bus, militants ambushed a vehicle carrying Shias at Akhtarabad on the outskirts of Quetta, killing two men. Several others were injured.
The Shias were on their way to Mastung to collect the bodies of their kin.
The militants who carried out both attacks escaped.
The banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi claimed responsibility for the attack on the bus in calls made to newspapers in Quetta.
Mastung is considered a hub of the LeJ, a notorious sectarian group that has carried out numerous attacks on Shias across Pakistan.
Khushal Khan, the driver of the bus, told reporters that the attackers blocked the road with a pick-up truck and ordered passengers to get out of the vehicle.
"The attackers were carrying Kalahnikovs and rocket launchers. After they opened fire, some of us escaped by running away," Khan said.
Though security cover is usually provided to vehicles carrying Shia pilgrims, Balochistan Home Secretary Naseebullah Bazai said the pilgrims had not informed the Home Department about their journey or sought security.
Khan, the bus driver, said about 45 people were in the vehicle.
He said security forces arrived at the site an hour after the attack.
The Shias were travelling to Taftan, a border town from where they intended to cross over to Iran for a pilgrimage.
Members of the minority Shia community have been repeatedly attacked in Balochistan, including in the provincial capital Quetta.
President Asif Ali Zardari condemned the attack on the bus, describing it as an inhuman and brutal act of terrorism.
He said such cowardly acts cannot dent the government's resolve to fight terrorism to the finish.

What about 5000 death in Syria ?
Agreed, it's very bad killing others , but what about Bashar Al Assad cruelty against Syrian (sunnis) ? he has killed more that 5000 until now and still going in on everyday.
First ,those (shias) should stop torching sunnis in the region of Iran and Baluchistan.
and shias should give respect to Wifes & Companians of prophets then speak.

What about learning the facts
There is no record till date about the death of 5000 peoples in Syria, it is bad if any body killed be it in Bahrain, Yemen, Syria, Egypt, Tunisia or occupied Lands, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Sudan to name a few, if you look closely almost 90% of these killings going in the above mention countries is done by Wahhabi or there agents, all working to keep Gora and Gori in the Muslim countries with one reason or other, same like in Bahrain,UAE, Oman, were lots of Gora and Gori military facilities are in the name of refueling, TAFT training and advisers some of the name just to insult the Muslim Ummah, if they called it Military base, than it will invite attention, no body tell any thing against Holy blessed wives, IF our younger brothers are quoting from OUR OWN SUNNIS BOOK AND THAT IS THE TRAGEDY, if they quote from there books it is not a problem, but if YOU read our renowned Sunnis authors you will find all this exposure in details and the cunning roles too, why to get upset try to understand the facts, if they are telling that no body attend the Holy prophet burial and the body lies there for three days, try to read our authors book and accept the facts, same like you reading other books, just crying and talking like stupid and Jahil to core Wahabis will not help you, when laid to rest you will be ask what you did in this transit world and what you learn, you will not be ask did to try to save the late casino champion who lost sixty million dollars in one night in Las Vegas the late Hafiullha, Rahamullha, who was responsible along with Gora and Gori in killings Millions of innocent Muslim in earlier war and still doing by funding and fake teachings and support of sold out Bazari Imams mostly who are blind, deaf or dumb, all done, and our brothers does not have sense to read or write or to question all this tamasha going in the name of Islam.
Killings Innocent and buying Hell
Again Wahhabi culture and Saudi blind Imams support, they have purchase hell for a cheap price and that for ever, are those killed were going to some gambling place like earlier King of Saudi Arabia the late Hifizullha, Rahamullha to Las Vegas and lost sixty million dollars in one night, or going to Shah Ruk Khan Movie,- no- they are going to Holy Mashhad to do Zirayath, of whom, one of the grand son of Holy blessed Prophet, these shrines are in Iraq, Iran, Saudi, Syria, all the part of Wahhabi and Al Qaeda culture, this time Siphaha e Jhangvi, all are working for illegitimate son of Gora, than Gora, beside ISI, and sold out Punjabi , same like there masters in Kharaj (Saudi) the center of Wahabis and the birth place of Janab Abdul Wahab, let all pray that Allah the Almighty and wise increase the AZAAAB in his grave day by day, minute by minute and second by seconds, and same time give Savab to the peoples who died in the love of Holy blessed Prophet, as a Sunni I feel shameful as every day due to act of few misguided youths who are bend to destroyed Islam from within.
