Abducted Jharkhand businessman rescued; six held

Sheikhpura, December 30:

A scrap dealer of Jharkhand who was abducted by six persons was rescued by police and the kidnappers arrested today from Bihar's Sheikhpura district, a senior police officer said.

The kidnappers, after abducting the scrap dealer of Deogarh Chanchal Kothari from his business outlet in the
morning were travelling in a vehicle with Kothari.

Acting on a tip off, police stopped the vehicle at Sarwa village under Barbigha police station of Sheikhpura district and apprehended the kidnappers and rescued Kothari, Superintendent of Police Babu Ram said.

The SP said the arrested kidnappers hailed from Mirzapur, Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh and different parts of Bihar.

Ram said the abducted businessman was given injection to make him unconscious and bundled in the vehicle in which they were travelling.

Injection and sedatives have been recovered from the vehicle, the SP said.
