Ban on Ghutka very soon

Hyderabad, January 07:

(Siasat News) State Govt. would impose a ban on Ghutka very soon. Govt. would take a decision and make an announcement imposing the ban.

A delegation of agitators against the use of Ghutka led by Mr. Justice A. Lakshmana Rao, former Chief Justice of A.P. High Court met state Health Minister, Dr. D.L. Ravinder Reddy in Secretariat yesterday for demanding to impose a ban on sale and use of Gutka.

They presented a memorandum to Health Minister. The members of the delegation told the Health Minister that the use of Ghutka is injurious to health and the worst sufferers are the youths. They are suffering from oral cancer and die. The delegation pointed out than on the instructions from Govt. of India, sixteen state Governments have imposed a ban in “Ghutka”. They stressed the need to ban Ghutka and also organize awareness programmes.
