London, December 16:

Boxing star Nicola Adams made women’s boxing history in the summer and now she wants to rewrite the history books again in Rio four years from now. The 30-year-old flyweight became the first woman to win Olympic boxing gold when she triumphed at the London Games and now it’s all systems go for the next Games.

“I really want to be Britain’s first boxer to be a double Olympic champion. Since the Olympics I’ve got to meet the Queen, the Prime Minister, and my idols Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Leonard,” the Daily Mirror quoted Adams, as saying. “Now I’m up for Sports Personality Of The Year. It’s unbelievable. I’m already back into training and I will be gearing up for the European Championships at the end of the year,” she said. “I’m looking forward to the Commonwealths in Scotland as well – it will be the first time women’s boxing has been in a Commonwealth Games,” she added.
