Patna, September 21: Annoyed with the functioning of Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad, his brother-in-law and former MP Subhash Yadav today resigned from the party and asked Mr Prasad to 'take exile' from politics.
After sending his resignation Mr Yadav, who claimed to have good relation with Mr Prasad, said their political relation was getting ruined.
He told newspersons here that he quit the party following political and ideological differences.
He suggested that his brother-in-law take exile from politics and hand over the command of the party to the youth as Lalu had already attained the age of 70.
Lauding the work of the Janata Dal(United)-led NDA government in Bihar, Mr Yadav said Mr Nitish Kumar had brought the state on the development track and also checked crime.
Rabri Devi's brother said he would decide about his political career after consulting his supporters post September 25.
Claiming that the RJD-LJP coalition would hardly get 25 seats in the October-November assembly polls, he said till 2003 Mr Prasad had worked for the welfare of dalits. But later he ignored the class and "would face the consequences" in the elections.
Committed leaders and workers were being ignored in the RJD because of which it was difficult for them to continue in the party, he said. Mr Yadav alleged that only criminals and musclemen were getting attracted to the RJD.
Incidentally, another high profile brother-in-law of Mr Prasad Anniruddh Prasad Yadav alias Sadhu Yadav, had left the RJD prior to the last Lok Sabha election and embraced the Congress, a party which shut its door on him this time.
