March 06:

Washington, March 06: US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton admitted that her country's drug demand is "part of the problem" fueling Central America's drug wars.

"The United States under the Obama administration recognizes and accepts its share of responsibility for the problems posed by drug trafficking in this region," she told reporters ahead of talks in Guatemalan.

On Friday Clinton was in Guatemala for a meeting with leaders and senior officials from eight Central American nations at which she also urged recognition of the new, post-coup government of Honduras.

In Central America, only Costa Rica and Panama have recognized the new government in Honduras. Neighboring Nicaragua is among those strongly opposed. In South America, Brazil and Argentina are resisting recognition.

Legalize Drugs in Mexico

It is despicable that so many are being killed in Mexico by thugs. And the US government is in very large part responsible. And so is the Mexican government too. Any one who knows anything about economics knows that when a product or service is relegated to the illegal market place, thugs and killers run the "drugs" business. And the only way to gain market share in a lawless market place is through violence and murder.

If the government of Mexico would grow, manufacture, distribute and thus sell "drugs" at a substantially lower cost than what users have to pay the cartels, the illegal drug dealers and their killer gangs the problem would be solved. The aforementioned scum would be put out of business and the killing would stop.

Indeed, at the beginning of legalization their would be the biggest armed conflict between the government forces(forget the local police, their already part of the illegal drugs business)and the illegal drug dealers. But the government armed forces would soon win with the cooperation of users who would rather buy a legal product at a reasonable price.

The issue of the a whole society becoming "strung out" and thus the economy would collapse due to legalazation is bull sh!t. It is not even worth discussing. Most people with the normal social and family supports that is part of human nature, moderate their use of mood altering substances and can stil function. Regarding Addicts, they make up a small percentage of any society that has the basic supports for normal healthy human nature and society to proceed and flourish. Even addicts can be contributive and productive in some small way when they don't have to spend their whole day in desperation seeking the money or the dealer for their fix.

Mexico, tell the US war on drugs crusaders to go to hell. It is the politicians and prison industry in the US who rant the loudest for the continuation of the war on drugs. These hypocrites, would stand to lose the astronomical profits of laundered money and prisoners to fill the outrageous privatized penal system in the corrupt USA, if drugs were legalized, taxed and controlled by the government. These pandering politicians and privitized prison entrepreneurs in the USA are scum just like the illegal drug dealers.

Do the right and sensible thing, legalize demonized drugs.
