Creative chefs rewarded for creating camel meat dishes in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, February 09: Due to their creative way to reinforce and adapt camel meat and its dairy products into modern cuisine, Chefs from Beach Rotana Hotel in Abu Dhabi won the prize of Tastes of Tradition – Culinary Competition organized on the sideline of Al Dhafra Festival.

The cash prize of AED 35,000 and a trophy was given to the winner in a ceremony held yesterday to conclude the festival which organized by Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) and last for ten days in Zayed City in the Western Region with multi activities that reflects UAE’s national heritage.

First runner’s up winner is Radisson Blu Hotel in Yas Island Abu Dhabi, a cash prize of AED 25,000 and a trophy was given to the hotel.

The second runner’s up winner is Abu Dhabi In-flight Catering LLC which was given a cash prize of 15,000 and a trophy.

The chefs competed to create a menu of a starter, main course and dessert using camel meat and its diary product which are main content of UAE’s traditional cuisine.

Panels of specialized judges evaluated the entries.
