Fashion designer held for possessing ganja

Mumbai, January 16:

A 23-year old fashion designer has been arrested for allegedly planning to sell 6.4 kg ganja worth Rs 45,000 near a five star hotel in suburban Santacruz, police said today.

Amreshkumar Singh, who hails from Bihar, was arrested while moving suspiciously at a taxi stand near Grand Hyatt
Hotel at Kalina yesterday at 9.30PM, police said, adding that 6.4 kg ganja was found in his possession.

Preliminary probe suggested that the contraband was brought to the city by the accused from Guwahati in Assam by
train, senior inspector Rajendra Pardeshi of Vakola police station said.

The accused has been staying with his friend in Juhu-Koliwada area in suburban Mumbai.

Police are trying to establish from whom he procured the drugs and whom did he plan to sell it in the city.
