February 27:

Hyderabad, February 27: A Moroccan was among six sex workers nabbed along with two middlemen during a raid on flesh trade in the posh Jubilee Hills locality. A car, five mobile phones and cash was seized from them.

Police said the sex racket was being run by Jocky alias Yakub, a native of Mangalore in Karnataka, and Md Baba alias Ravinder Reddy alias Rahul Reddy of Guntur with their henchmen, Jaffer and Sharath Shetty, both hailing from Mangalore.

Jocky and Rahul Reddy were procuring young, good-looking call girls from various cities across the country by paying up to Rs 80,000 per head for 10 days. They procured girls, particularly from Russia and middle-east countries, through overseas agents.

Brought to India on visit visas, the foreign girls were sent to posh brothel houses in metros. The duo also sent young girls from the country to the traffickers abroad.

They used to establish contacts with customers through Internet. Calls from customers used to be directed to Jaffer and Sharath Shetty in the city and through them to the other agents in Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai.

Jaffer and Sharath Shetty, who were arrested, charged Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 from each customer.

They were getting an average of two customers a day.
