New York, June 02: A Fox television reporter is suing the owner of a website for putting pornographic pictures up on the site which she claims are not her.
Lauren Lee Gauck, 29, from Memphis, says the nude photos posted on www.thedirty.com are not her and were false and defamatory.
The suit says pictures of the real Ms Gauck were juxtaposed with nude images of an unknown woman on the site.
The suit asks for $50 million in damages and seeks to bar the defendants from using Gauck's name, image or likeness.
The main defendant in the case is Hooman Karamian, also known as Nik Richie of Scottsdale, Arizona, who is the founder of the site.
Richie is better known for marrying the 2008 The Bachelor winner Shayne Lamas.
The couple are expecting a child later this year.
According to the Commercial Appeal, the 29-year-old became aware of the photos and derogatory comments in April when they were posted on the website under an entry titled 'Chicago Girls Need To Be Exposed'.
Ms Gauck said in the suit the web page entries attracted at least 22,000 hits before they were temporarily removed.
Phoenix attorney David Gingras, who represents the defendants, said: 'Under federal law you cannot hold a website responsible for material posted by a user. If somebody posted something on Facebook that's defamatory, you can sue the author but you can't sue Mark Zuckerberg, who is the founder of Facebook.'
According to the Commercial Appeal, Karamian, 32, recently changed his name to Nik Lamas-Richie after marrying The Bachelor winner Shayne Lamas.
