September 07:

Mumbai, September 07: Salman Khan is easily one of the ferociously secular actors in Bollywood. His family often does Ganesh puja and celebrates many Hindu festivals with fervour. No surprise that the actor got upset when a reporter in Nagpur asked a question that alluded about Salman not being secular.

While he was promoting his film Dabangg in Nagpur, a reporter asked Salman why is there so much emphasis on Dabangg being an Eid release, when the Hindu festival of Ganesh Chaturthi was also at the same time.

Salman was obviously upset at the inane question and refused to answer.

His co-star Sonakshi Sinha, who was equally unhappy about the question, said “It’s absolutely unfair to ask Salman such a question.”

Later, she also tweeted her displeasure over the question: “Just to create controversy or raise TRP’s, using religion is disgusting. When will these guys grow up and see the broader picture?”

Those who really challenge Salman’s secularity should know that his brothers are married to Hindu women. Salman himself has made several paintings depicting the equality of all religions.
