Hyderabad, August 13: The city of Hyderabad is famous for its mannerism, culture, tasty Biryani and gorgeous Sherwani. The city has now become famous for fast moving autorickshaws and rash driving drivers. Most of these drivers buy autorickshaw by borrowing money on exorbitant rates of interest. These auto drivers remain under the clutches of money-lenders for years together.
These days, some Muslims philanthropists are actively supporting the movement for Zakaat Collection. This move is receiving applause from various sections of the society. An autodriver by name AbdurRaoof has pasted the Zakaat poster on the back of his autorickshaw to propogate Zakaat collection compaign. He says that the amount collected by way of Zakaat can be given to such poor auto drivers which can change their lifestyle. They could be relieved of the heavy amount of interests which they pay to non Muslim money lenders. Most of these auto drivers are illiterates. They don’t even know how much money remains to be repaid after paying interest amount. If the loan instalments are not paid in time, the money lenders abuse them using filthy language. They even engage rowdysheeters to recover the balance amounts. In many cases, the autorickshaw is confiscated by the money lenders resulting in the starvation of members of the drivers.
He appealed to the Muslim elite and the rich persons of Muslim Ummah to arrange interest free loans since no bank comes to their help. If their lifestyle improves, a day will come when these auto drivers will be in a position to distibute zakaat to others.

I 100% agree with the first comment. 98% auto drivers are rude and deny taking passengers, only 2% are really good and ready to take the passenger any where. If you work hard you will benefit or else you will loose.

Lets be practical . Let it be any one not just the auto drivers. If inshallah we try and do this all year not just in Ramadan , I beleive inshallah all of us brothers can do good for our community. Alhamdulillah we do have resources. Islamic banking is a very good way of doing things. We should have done this for long time specially since we had the Charminar bank, Daru-salam bank. I request our community leaders, inshallah Asad and Akbar bhai to start this for the better of the community. Set targets for each year, let all brother participate in creating a fund that can be used for improving our mosques, helping poor brothers nby creating jobs for them, get basic education for all the children no matter whether they can afford or not. I mean this and please if there is any one who wants to make any negative comment , think about it. This is the month of Ramadan , let us all pledge one thing we are brothers, Allah(sbt) has blessed us, we need to think How many years do we live. People have come and gone, no one took any thing with them except their aamaaal.
If we come to think, create a society that can take care of needs of pur community we will not have to ask any government to help maintain our mosques, our homes.
Inshallah allah (sbt) guide us all on right path.
All leaders not matter who they are MIM, MBT or what so ever all of you are ummul-Momininin first, you became leaders as Allah(sbt) wants you to do some thing good with the postion you are in. Use this opportunity, as some may escape the law of the land but who will help on when they are gone and on day of judgement.

Lets be practical
This is indeed a very good idea. Take the example of Dr. Younus Khan
of Bangla Desh. He is an international known man. He started out giving
loan only to poor people with interest to help them create their own jobs
and work. Those people returned the money with interest and became owners
of their businesses. It was on television. A lady who used to make
'mondhas', chairs with straws. She used to borrow to run her business,
but the lender took the major portion of her earning, leaving her barely
enough to survive. She borrowed money from Younus Khan, and in three years
she returned the money and had employed five employees and was doing lot
better than before. Wake up Muslim brothers. You can do it, Insha Allah!

Ummul-momineen translates to Mothers of the believers; the title which has been given to the wives of Prophet Muhammad sallahu alai wasallam.
I'm sure you meant ummath-e-mohmmaed sallahu alai wasallam.
Also, instead of we going around our leaders... why don't YOU take this up? Why do you want give a big share of your aamaal-saleh to others? Allah says in the Quran "We have created you to know who is the best in deeds"?
Autowale Shukar aada karo
It’s a good initiative, but most of the auto drivers may not be thankful enough for the efforts.
Many are used to this filthy language and won't understand the polite language, and continue with their arrogance asking passengers whatever comes in mount instead of going on a reasonable fare.
Many sit in hotels; smoking and eating guthkas and drinking eat, but may not carry passengers, even if passenger is elderly person looking for an auto in scorching Sun. There are good and sincere autowalas as well, but they are handful.
The ones who are in the clutches of these money launders got themselves into the situation because of their own deeds. The good ones never fall in this trap as Allah sends help to them and saves them.
As Allah is all gracious and merciful, thru the people who took this initiative, HE is helping the trapped ones too.
Interest business in Hyderabad is gulping down the poor Muslims
It's time for the banks to come up with Islamic banking in India to help and elevate the deserving people in taking loans for housing and business, and protect the gullible people from unscrupulous money lenders.
