Hyderabad, September 08: Reacting sharply to the remarks of the Mines and Geology Minister, Mr Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, that he doesn’t mind losing Cabinet post for participating in the Odarpu Yatra of the Kadapa MP, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Congress senior leader, Mr J C Diwakara Reddy, has said that the minister cannot speak as he wished because he was in the Rosaiah Cabinet and not that of former chief minister late Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
He also reminded the former that YSR’s cabinet ended the moment when Dr Reddy died in September last.
Speaking to mediapersons at the CLP office on Tuesday, Mr Diwakara Reddy said that Mr Srinivasa Reddy was at liberty whether to continue in the Rosaiah Cabinet or not, but he cannot talk what he liked being a responsible minister.
The former minister said that it was the prerogative of the Chief Minister and the party High Command to expand the cabinet and both would decide the issue when such an expansion warranted. He also made it clear that he would not be sad if he was not inducted during the cabinet expansion, if any. It was the Chief Minister’s prerogative to decide whom to be inducted in the cabinet, he added.
Responding to a query, the former minister replied that he was not eagerly waiting for cabinet expansion. Asked about the Kadapa MP’s allegations against the State government, Mr Reddy pointed out that the present government was implementing all the schemes introduced by the late YSR. He said that the Rosaiah government did not delete even a single scheme introduced by late chief minister. “It is very common that the governments face economic hiccups now and then and that doesn’t mean that the present government was shy of implementing YSR’s schemes”, he asserted.
Responding to another query on the APPSC issue, the former minister said that it was not proper for the Telangana Congress leaders to demand cancellation of the Group-I prelims examBHhhination as the APPSC was a Constitutional body.
Expressing happiness over the ACB Court ordering inquiry into Emaar Properties-APIIC deal, Mr Reddy said that a thorough inquiry would reveal the truth. The order to inquire into the controversial deal was important and not which government was in power at the time of occurrence.
Responding to another query on Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy’s defiance of party High Command and going ahead with his obsessed Odarpu Yatra, Mr Diwakara Reddy said that it was good that he rose to the level of facing anyone in the nation.
