Mumbai, January 21: Bollywood hottie Katrina Kaif continues to be producer’s favourite pick despite her latest flick ‘Tees Maar Khan’ turning out to be a Box Office dud. Buzz has it that the sexy girl is all set to do a double role for the first time ever in her upcoming untitled film. Hema Malini and Sridevi were the only two A-list actresses of their times to have done a double role while they were at the peak of their careers. And Katrina is surely following in their footsteps.
Talking to a tabloid, a source said, “The plan to make a film that has Katrina in a double role is definitely on. There is speculation that Dibakar Banerjee (‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’, ‘Oye Lucky Lucky Oye’, ‘Love Aur Dhoka’) may be asked to direct it. A couple of other high-profile director names are also being floated. However, nothing is final yet. They also need two leading men for the film. At best, this project can be described as a work-in-progress."
Kat is certainly at the peak of her career and she is making the most of all the adulations she has been receiving.
Talking about Katrina and a few senior actresses, a trade analyst said, "This is an age-old Bollywood tradition. When Hema Malini was at her peak Ramesh Sippy made ‘Seeta Aur Geeta’ with her. Likewise when Sridevi was riding a crest of popularity, Pankuj Parasher made ‘Chaalbaaz’ with her. Now, since Kat is the golden girl of Bollywood, a film corporation that has bought the rights for ‘Seeta Aur Geeta’ wants to make a new version of this film with Katrina."
Now, whether or not Katrina will be successful in pulling of a double role is something to wait and watch. But here’s some good news for her fans for sure. They have a double dose of Katrina’s jawani.
