Arvind Kejriwal’s trust Public Cause Research Foundation has got huge funds from corporate bigwigs like Narayana Murthy who tops the list with a personal contribution of Rs. 12 lakh. The others include Vallabh Bhansali, co-founder and Chairman of Enam Financial Consultants Pvt. Ltd, who contributed Rs 2 lakh. A cheque of Rs 25 lakh came from Tata Social Welfare Trust, Vikram Lal, managing director and the chief executive officer of Eicher Motors, contributed Rs 3 lakh while Nimesh Kampani, founder and chairman of JM Financial Group, provided Rs 50000. Sanjiv Bikhchandani of naukri.com also contributed Rs 50000 and the Bangalore-based Kasturi Trust provided a corpus of ` 25 lakh to Kejriwal’s foundation. … and the list goes on.
Kejriwal’s trust Public Cause Research Foundation, is a Delhi- based NGO that was founded on December 19, 2006 by Kejriwal, his IAC associate Manish Sisodia and TV producer and writer Abhinandan Sekhri. The trust aims to wage a war against the political class. The NGO’s aim is to ‘ensure that our society becomes more inclusive and real power rests with the common citizens of India,’ states its website.
Kejriwal donated the prize money of his Magsaysay Award as the main corpus to fund the NGO. Besides Kejriwal, Prashant Bhushan and Kiran Bedi are the other trustees of the foundation.
