L&T bags deals worth Rs.1,711 crore in March 2015

Diversified company Larsen and Toubro (L&T) on Friday said its construction and power divisions has bagged orders worth Rs.1,711 crore in March this year.

While the factories and buildings arm of L&T won orders valued at Rs.880 crore, the power transmission and distribution business got orders worth Rs.676 crore.

“A major order has been received from a reputed private developer for the construction of a residential building in Mumbai. The scope involves civil, structural, architectural finishes and mechanical, electrical and plumbing works,” the company said in a statement.

The company received another EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) order from a private cement producer for their Greenfield cement grinding unit in Madhya Pradesh.

“An EPC order has been received from the Bihar State Power Transmission Company Limited for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 220 kV double circuit transmission line works associated with optical ground wire and communication system in Bihar,” the company said.

Orders were also received from the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited for turnkey construction of 220kV multi-circuit and double-circuit transmission lines in Jammu and Kashmir and 765 kV double-circuit transmission line associated with inter regional system strengthening scheme in Uttar Pradesh.

“Additional orders worth Rs.155 crore have been won by (the L&T) construction’s water and renewable energy business,” it said.
