Hyderabad, November 30:

Chief Secretary of A.P., Dr. P.K. Mohanty issued orders transferring Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel, IAS and posted him as Special Secretary of the Dept. of Minorities Welfare. He belongs to 1998 batch of IAS. Earlier, he served in GHMC, Wakf Board and Revenue Depts.

He is the sixth secretary of the Dept. of Minorities Welfare during the past 4 years. Earlier Mr. Lingaraj Panigrahi, Mr. Mohammed Ali Rafath, Mr. Danakishore, Ms. Rani Kumudini and Mr. Ahmed Nadeem have occupied this post. No Secretary could continue for more than 6-8 months. For the most part, additional secretaries or in charge secretaries held this post. Govt. of A.P. had appointed Mr. Ahmed Nadeem, IAS as the Secretary of the Dept. of Minorities Welfare on 12th June this year but on 22nd October he was transferred as Commissioner of State Excise. Ms. Neelam Sahani, IAS, Principal Secretary of the Dept. of Women and Child Welfare was holding additional charge of this Dept.
