Naidu asks officials to select pensioners by Oct 2

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today held a video conference with Self Help Groups (SHGs) from his camp office here.

Interacting with SHGs on the video conference, the chief minister said a six member committee would select eligible pensioners from village level. He asked the officials to prepare a comprehensive list of pensioners. If any irregularities found, concerned officials and ministers would be held responsible and money would be collected from them, he said.

The officials should ensure that pension reached the poor eligible persons and SHGs should work sincerely, Naidu said and asked the officials to complete the process of selection of pensioners by October 2.

He said 20 per cent families have lacked toilet facilities, and as a result women are facing problems. The chief minister asked SHGs to involve in construction of toilets in villages, schools and colleges.
The government would give priority to provide basic facilities to the people in rural areas. In many villages there was no facilities of drinking water. To overcome this problem, the government would launch a programme of providing 20 liters drinking water just for Rs 2. He assured that drinking water would be made available to every village through water grid.

The chief minister said 24 hours power supply would be provided from October 2. The government is evolving a major plan with a vcost of Rs 85,000 crore for production of electricity.

He further said that “Parishubrata-Pachadanam” (Sanitation and Greenery) programme would be launched in all municipalities in the next 15 days.

The government would launch a NTR Arogya seva (health service) with a cost of Rs 1000 crore soon, the chief minister said.
