Naidu refuses to pick Rosaiah's gauntlet

Monday, 23 November 2009

Hyderabad, November 23: Refusing to accept the challenge thrown by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah, Telugu Desam Party President N Chandrababu Naidu today reiterated his doubts over non-tamperability of the Electronic Voting Machines(EVMS).

A day after the Chief Minister asserted he would resign in the event of the TDP bagging even a single seat more than the Congress, Mr Naidu, after exercising his franchise in the posh Jubilee Hills Area, told mediapersons the party had reservations over the EVM system. ''We want restoration of paper ballot'', he maintained.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the polling arrangements made by the Election authorities, he said the situation was not conducive for ''secret voting''.
