Nizamia issues fatwa against excess revelry during Milad-un-nabi

February 03:

Hyderabad, February 03: A leading seminary of the city said on Thursday that the Muslims cannot be permitted to play music, sing and dance as a part of Milad-un Nabi (birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammed) celebrations on February 5.

Concerns have been expressed by a section of the community if such large-scale celebrations, a trend seen only in the past few years, has the sanction of the religion. Responding to a query posed by one Hamid, the 135-year-old Jamea Nizamia located in Shibligunj, Hussainialam, issued a fatwa barring the devout in indulging in any kind of celebration that is beyond the parameters of the Sharia or the Islamic law.

"Playing music at volume that could cause inconvenience to others is not allowed. If there is apprehension that reading the Koran loudly could disturb others, it should not be allowed," said the fatwa.

The edict signed by six senior functionaries of the Jamea also told the Muslims that making models of Kabatullah or the house of God in Mecca and dome of Prophet Mohammed's resting place in Madina 'is against the respect that is reserved to them.'

The fatwa, however, said the birthday of the Prophet was an occasion of joy for all the Muslims. The Muslims organize meetings to remember the Prophet, mass feeding camps and other charitable events. "But the expression of happiness should be within the limits of the Sharia," it said.

For those who celebrate

For those who celebrate Milad-un-nabi,

Bro & Sisters - Assalamualaikum

Have you observed one thing, long time ago almost every muslim use to celebrate milad un nabi because they were illiterates and due to lack of islamic knowledge. Now a days if you can see statistics the literacy percentage is higher then olden days. Why i am telling all this only because to let you know guys that these days everyone is trying to know islam deeper and deeper. In result they have stopped doing all extra things in islam which we use to do before without any knowledge. Alhamdulillah you can notice people coming out doing such practices instead going back to it. InshALLAH i hope a day will come that every one will stop doing all this.

celebration of birthday (Milaad Un Nabi)

I do not understand what type of love you are showing by celebrating birth day. Suppose if I love a hero I just not say by words I change myself I adopt his style of talking, style of wearing, style of hair etc….. if you are true Muslim and love Prophet Muhammad SAW then confirm by practicing his teaching:

• Worship like him to Allah (swt) alone!
• Be honest like him (he was Ameen!)
• Pray in Masjid with congregation five times like him (he did till he dies)
• Stop consuming interest, orphan wealth, other haram substances like him (he never consumed)
• Do not tell lie like him (he never did)
• Make yourself involve in solving the problems of others like him
• Do not use bad words like him
• Fear Allah (SWT) like him
• Etc….

This is not the showing of love it is waste of money.

Giving thanks is a clear

Giving thanks is a clear indication of a person’s appreciation of something that has been received. It is often said that such appreciation is a sure sign of a person's sanity, for only the insane fail to recognize their benefactor. Perhaps this is why the Glorious Quran urges the believers to acknowledge the divine favors and show gratitude to Him: "So eat from Allah's sustenance that which is lawful and pure and be grateful for God's favors if you really worship Him” (Surah An-Nahl, ayah 114)

The same theme of thanksgiving is repeated in the following ayah: “So seeks sustenance from Allah and worship Him and give thanks to Him and to Him you will be returning” (Surah Ankabut, ayah 17)

In the following verse Allah is forcefully urging the believer to give thanks to Allah so that they may gain more of His favors and be saved from His wrath: “Remember when your Lord proclaimed: If you are grateful then I shall give you more and if you are ungrateful, lo! My punishment is severe” (Surah Ibrahim, ayah 7)

The coming of blessed Mustafa(saws) is considered as God's special favor on the believers as attested by the following ayah: “Surely Allah has bestowed a special favour on the believers by
sending amongst them the Messenger who recites on to them his verses and purifies them and teaches them the book and the wisdom and before that they were clearly misguided.” (Surah Ali-Imran, ayah 164)

These celebrations consist of holding gatherings where poems and stories of the prophets are read, sermons are delivered to honor the Prophet(saws) and deepen peoples’ knowledge about his sublime character and traditions.

Unfortunately there are a few people amongst the Muslims who criticize those people who celebrate Milad. It appears as though these people haven’t closely examined the Quran:
"Say in the bounty of Allah and His mercy: therein let them rejoice, it is better than what they accumulate.” (Surah Yunus, ayah 58)

The ayah tells us that upon receiving Allah’s bounty we should be joyful and delighted. Is there a favor greater than Al-Mustafa (saws)? Muslims have been celebrating the Milad for centuries in villages and towns. Practices and ways may have differed but the mood has
always been the same: one of rejoicing. People have gathered to talk and listen to God's praise and to sing his hymns. The stories of the Prophet’s (saws) birth, his miracles and greatness are told in a moving poetic way. Salaam and blessings are sent upon the great benefactor. People prepare and distribute sweet dishes. There is an air of festivity, generosity and thanksgiving. The whole community of believers is rejoicing, “Therein let them rejoice!”

Some critics of Milad consider it to be a bidah Dallah, a misguided innovation. Let us briefly examine this allegation. Bidah is an innovation in religion; something new appended to
religion. As such it can be good or bad, condoned or condemned, praiseworthy or blameworthy.
Imam Bukhari narrates that Umar (r) gathered people for Tarawih prayers and said this is a good innovation. Whilst commenting on this hadith Hafiz Ibn Hajar says: “Bidah is something which has no precedent and if its application contravenes a sunnah it is a condemnable bidah. If it conforms to Shariah then it is a good bidah otherwise it is permissible.” This is also the view of Imam Shafi who divides bidah into bidah mahmooda (good) and bidah mazmooma (bad). Similarly Imam Baihaqi has said in his book “Munaqib”: “Bidah is of two kinds, one
that contravenes the Quran and hadith and is also against the consensus, that is misguided bidah, but any innovation which is for the benefit of the Muslims and is not against the Shariah is acceptable.”

The glorious Quran repeatedly tells us to commemorate honor and remember special days of Allah. The Quran says, “And we sent Moses with our signs and told him to bring out his people from the depth of darkness and into light and teach them to remember the days of Allah.” (Surah Ibrahim, ayah 5)

Celebration of Milad-un-Nabi

Celebration of Milad-un-Nabi only started during 7th century in city of Mosul, Iraq. You cannot find any reference about its celebration until that time. This was never celebrated during the life time of our beloved Prophet (SAW) nor his noble companions, tabiyeen, tabe-tabiyeen and neither by our four Imams. It was also never celebrated by Shaikh Abdul Qader Jilani to whom our Sub-Continent Muslims refers as Nayeb-e-rasool. When you cannot find any instances of celebration during above mentioned periods, how can you say that its not against Shariah?

Our beloved Prophet (SAW) has always instructed us not to imitate Jews & Christians. What are we doing by celebrating Milad-un-Nabi? Dont you think this is contrary to above hadeeth? Any act or deed done as part of tradition blindly following fathers & forefathers will not make that deed permissible as per Shariah. This was the same reason why all of earlier ummats like of Aad, Thamud, Madyan, etc rejected Prophets of their time.

Please consider below fact with open heart. As we all know that most of the Companions of our Rasool Allah Salallahu Alayhi Wasalaam were involved in trade for which they used to regularly visit Shaam (today's Syria), Yemen, etc. At that time Shaam was in control of Christians and our Sahabas had full knowledge of culture & traditions of Christians of that time. They knew very well that Christians celebrate Prophet Isaa (AS) birthday every year. If celebrating birthday's was allowed in Shariah, they must have definitely started this act during life time of Rasool Allah Salallahu Alayhi Wasalaam itself. But they did not do it 'coz of above mentioned Hadeeth. It, celebrating Milad-un-Nabi is therefore should be treated as a new invention in Islam, which has no meaning and will not be of any benefit to us on the day of judgement.

May Allah (SWT) guide all of us on the right path, the path of Saleheen & Muttaqeen...Ameen.

Very balanced and moderate

Very balanced and moderate approach - it is better to avoid extremism of all kind. As the Ahle Hadees do not follow any Imam, they are spreading extremism in the community and are actin glike Osama Bin Ladin. Avoid the Ahle Hadees and be moderate in your views and actions as long as you are an Indian Muslim.

To celebrate or not too....

:)Peace to all brothers and sisters

I am pretty sure all of u are aware that irrespective of how much u try the other party is not going to leave there practices.....

1) for those who do not want to celebrate
- yes there is nothing mentioned in the quran - 100 % correct....
- it is mentioned in some ahadiths that there were bedouins who celebrated milad.....
- it is also mentioned some places and people have changed the meaning accordingly and said its allowed to celebrate.
- My opinion do not celebrate... reason y... (only for those who have done serious research on this subject and not those who have listened to some scholar) if u cant reason with it and are in doubt do not do it......
- so u guys can stay home and not celebrate and just get angry and think that u r doing right :)

2) my friends who love celebrating milad.
- Ok you gotta give it to the person who introduced Allah to you.
- Optimists - yes SAW came into existence this day and he left this day too... but u celebrate the positive part of it.... :)
- you shell out money, you feed the hungry.. wherein every year the poor guys know that there is one day in the year where they will surely not feel hungry.. even on eid al fitr they might but on milad no ways...... so thanks for feeding those poor.
- Charity- well there is great amount of charity... every step becomes a charity as it is in the love of a person u have never seen or heard..... i have seen people even spending their last penny just to may be chip in to feed some other poor people - i mean all this is love .. init :)

- Drawback- going extreme and wasting money while u can easily be moderate...
but i guess u got many points in favor for u

See friends...... pls do not judge things according to what someone says ... because they are ppl out there who can even convince u to drink alcohol and say it wont be haraam....
PLZ do ur individual study on it.. which again amounts to great charity as u wud be spending time for knowledge and after trying ur best u cant get an answer pls do not do it...

Prophet mohammed.... SAWS never closed brothels or liquor shops.... he never though it was clearly said it was haraam... he just created an atmosphere and ambience of virtue that people stopped going to those places and went out of busines... he was a genius.. that is why Allah blessed him so much and loved him..... u should know how to teach people and not do anything by force.;. Islam is not by force its bu understanding..... Allahis not going to ask u if ur neighbor celebrated milad or not... ur questionable.. and ur answerable....so pls look at urself and stop criticising the other guy for practicing what he thinks is right.. Allah is the judge of everyones affair.. so stop judging people.... and giving a verdict .. Scholars spend their entire life studying ... they can give a fatwa..... Allah will judge u according to ur intentions... those who love prophet and do some act of charity for him be it mere celebration might be rewarded to Allah and his pleasement for the act and those who don't can be happy and be safe as to not earn a reward....

May Allah guide us all and show us the correct path.... Pls see ur amals.. u will take a lifetime to correct them rather than watching others wat they r getting into..... LOVE U ALl

MELAAD NABI

Ye saare log EMAAN nahi rakte mager sirf kalma padte hai bucho kaise. Emaniyat me hai Allah ki Kitab per Imaan lana yani Quran ke her ayat per emaan lana aur amal karna uska inkar Islam ke circle se baher ker deta hai. Let us examine following verse of Noble Quran on this people:
'Whatever the Prophet gives you accept it, and whatever he forbids you refrain from it.' (59:7) 'Whoever obeys the Prophet obeys Allah.' (4:80)
Now you tell who are following exactly the noble Quran????????
I ask you Kalima go did prophet SAW celebrate his birthday any time during his life time or his companions celebrated it? Obviously the answer will be negative. That means they are creating a new thing in Religion i.e. (Innovation) every innovation is misguidance that will lead to HELL.

These processions are NOT Islam. They are something else. They are an effort to save / keep Identity Politics - which is okay - but it is not primary.

There are far more important things to do.

Take to education. math and science. Baaki sab whether Mohurram Ashura Procession or Milad Procession... they are not important.

Celebrating the birthday of the Prophet SAW

".....This day, I have perfected your Deen (way of life) for you, completed My Favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion...(Quran 5:3)

There is nothing in the Qur’aan to say that we should celebrate the Mawlid or birthday of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). The Prophet himself (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did not do this or command anyone to do it, either during his lifetime or after his death. Indeed, he told them not to exaggerate about him as the Christians had exaggerated about Jesus (upon whom be peace). He said: “Do not exaggerate about me as the Christians exaggerated about the son of Maryam. I am only a slave, so say, ‘The slave of Allaah and His Messenger.’” (Reported by al-Bukhaari).

What has been reported is that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) made the day of his birth a day of worship, which is different to celebration. He was asked about fasting on Mondays, and he said: “That is the day on which I was born and the day on which I was entrusted with the Mission or when I was first given Revelation.” (Reported by Muslim, al-Nisaa’i and Abu Dawood).

Moreover, we know that the Sahaabah (may Allaah be pleased with them) were the people who loved the Prophet most. Was it reported that Abu Bakr, who was the closest of people to him and the one who loved him the most, celebrated the birthday of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)? Was it reported that ‘Umar, who ruled for twelve years, or ‘Uthmaan, did this? Was it reported that ‘Ali, his relative and foster son, did this? Was it reported that any of the Sahaabah did this? No, by Allaah! Is it because they were not aware of its importance,or did they not truly love the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)? No one would say such a thing except one who has gone astray and is leading others astray.

Did any of the imaams – Abu Haneefah, Maalik, al-Shaafi’i, Ahmad, al-Hasan al-Basri, Ibn Seereen – do this or command others to do it or say that it was good? By Allaah, no! It was not even mentioned during the first and best three centuries. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said in a saheeh hadeeth:

“The best of mankind are my generation (or my century), then those who come after them, then those who come after them. Then there will come a people who will not care if their testimony comes before their oath or vice versa (i.e., they will not take such matter seriously).” (Reported by al-Bukhaari, Muslim and al-Tirmidhi).

The celebration of the Prophet’s birthday appeared many centuries later, when many of the features of true religion had vanished and bid’ah had become widespread.

Thus this celebration became a sign of one’s love for the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)? But can it be possible that the Sahaabah, the imaams and the people of the best three centuries were unaware of it, and it was only those who came later who were aware of its importance?!

What the Qur’aan tells us is that love of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is demonstrated by following the guidance he brought. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Say (O Muhammad): ‘If you (really) love Allaah, then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allaah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
Say: ‘Obey Allaah and the Messenger.’ But if they turn away, then Allaah does not like the disbelievers.” [Aal ‘Imraan 3:31-32]

The first aayah explains that love is just a claim, but the proof of sincerity is following what the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) brought. The second aayah reaffirms the importance and necessity of obeying Allaah and His Messenger. Hence Allaah ended the aayah with a very stern warning in which those who refuse to obey are described as kaafirs, and Allah does not love the disbelievers. We ask Allaah to keep us safe from that. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) told us of the danger of not obeying him, and the danger of adding to what he brought. The celebration of Mawlid or his birthday is indeed an addition to what he brought – as all the scholars agree. He said: “The best of speech is the Book of Allaah, and the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad. The most evil of things are those which are newly-invented (in religion), and every innovation is a going astray.” (Reported by Muslim and al-Nisaa’i).

We ask Allaah to protect us from bid’ah and to bless us by helping us to follow. Allaah knows best.
May Allaah bless our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)

“PROOF OF MEELAD IN AHAADIS”

ASSALAMU ALAIKUM WO RAHMATULLAHI WO BARKATAHU
“PROOF OF MEELAD IN AHAADIS” ALSO REFER HISTORY OF MEELAD 1 OF 4 BELOW

It is in Hadith - Waliuddin wrote this narration with reference to Sahee Muslim. When Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) was asked about his fasts on Mondays, he said "I was born and the Qur'an was revealed to me on this day." [Mishkat - Page 179]

It is in Hadith that when the slave girl of Abu Lahab gave the good news of Prophet's (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) birth to him, he freed her with the gesture of his right finger. Therefore, every Monday night the torment (Azaab) to him is reduced to a certain extent".

It is in Hadith - "Ala bizkris saliheena tanzilul barakatuh" (Meaning - Yes, the remembrance of virtuous people brings abundance of good (barakah) from Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی). Therefore special remembrance of Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) on his Milad day brings abundance of virtue from Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی).

It is in Hadith - Abul Khattab Umro Bin Wahia Kalbi (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) has narrated this Hadith in his book 'At tanweer fi Mauludil basheer an-nazeer'. Also, Imam Jalaluddin Suyuti has narrated this Hadith in his book "Siblul Huda fi Mauludil Mustafa (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) " that Hazrat Abu Darda (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) narrates that "I went to the house of Aamer Ansari (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) along with the Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم). Hazrat Abu Aamer (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) was narrating the events of the birth of Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) to a gathering of his relatives and children and was repeating; "this was the day and this was the day". The Prophet (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) said, O'Aba Amer(رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ), Allah (سبحانہ و تعا لی) has opened the doors of His mercy (Rahmah) for you and the angels are praying for your absolution (Maghfirah). Whoever does this act of yours, he would also get the Salvation like yours".

The above Hadith confirms the following.
(1) Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) has declared that whoever celebrates his (Prophet's - صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) birth day will get salvation on the Day of Judgment.
(2) Whoever celebrates the birthday of Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم), the doors of Allah's (سبحانہ و تعا لی) mercy are opened for him.
(3) Whoever celebrates the birthday of Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم), the angels pray for his absolution (Maghfirah).

It is in Hadith - Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Abbas (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہ) said that "one day at my home I had gathered people and was describing about the birth of Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) and the people were feeling over joyous and were invoking the praise of Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) (meaning - reading Durood-e-Sharif) and Prophet Mohammad (صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم) himself came to our gathering and said "My intercession (hallat lakum Shafa'a) for you has become legitimized.
The above Hadith is narrated by (i) Imam Suyuti in his book "Siblul Huda", (ii) Ahmad Bin Hujr Al-Makki (the famous Jurist of Shafi'i school of thought) in his book "Maulud al-Kabeer", and (iii) Abul Qasim Mohammad Ibn Osman in his book "Addurul Munazzam".

Riyadh, June 29, 2010: A fatwa (religious ruling) issued by Shaikh Adel Al Kalbani, a former imam of the Grand Mosque in Makkah, in which he claimed that Islam does not forbid singing and music
His fatwa shocked many of his supporters and students because he was one of the most fanatical scholars during the 1980s who strongly opposed singing and music. People are astonished by this 180 degrees shift in attitude
Al Kalbani was strongly criticised specially on the internet which many of them said Al Kalbani has exited the Islamic Jamaa (group).
Moderate approach
Al Kalbani, who is nicknamed "Obama of Saudi Arabia" said it is not right to say singing is totally not permissible under Islam and also not right to say it is absolutely forbidden by the religion. "We should always be moderate," he said.
He also approved the Saudi folklore dances such as Al Ardah Al Najdiyah, Al Khibaiti, Al Samri and Al Mizmar Al Hijazi. He cited the rulings issued by imam Al Nawawi and Ibn Katheer permitting folklore dances in social occasions such as wedding and circumcision.

Dr Mohammad Al Hamoud Al Najdi, an Islamic researcher, "I strongly supported them and had a famous sermon on this but I changed my mind when I found out that prohibition of singing and music in Islam was based on weak evidences," he said.
People who love singing and music were quick to support Al Kalbani. Saudi publisher and media personality Osman Al Omair welcomed Al Kalbani's fatwa and said those who say singing and music were haram are as good as animals.

and who didnt do this will get reward & who perform this acts if it falls under the category of Bidaah than they have to answer to ALLAH on Judgement day.

So please try not to fight with each other, its time for muslim brother to get unite.

Milad un Nabi (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam)...To Celebrate or not

Praise be to Allaah, we seek His help and His forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allaah from the evil of our own souls and from our bad deeds. Whomsoever Allaah guides will never be led astray, and whomsoever Allaah leaves astray, no one can guide. I bear witness that there is no god but Allaah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

Some of us celebrate it with great devotion and diligence, while some of us are against it with an equally great vengeance. Some say it is our religious duty while others say it is nothing but bidah. People argue about it. Families split up, friends forsake each other. And sometimes people literally fight over it and hurt one another.
So what is it that I am talking about?

I am talking about celebrating the birthday of the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam), the Mawlid or Milad, as some of us say.

Yes, the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal comes and go every year. But, ever wondered..... what is the reality regarding the celebration of the birth of our beloved Prophet anyway?
Let us examine the facts.

First of all, whenever a Muslim is faced with a problem or confusing situation, what are we supposed to do?

Allaah tells us:
“O you who believe! Obey Allaah and obey the Messenger (Muhammad), and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority. (And) if you differ in anything amongst yourselves, refer it to Allaah and His Messenger, if you believe in Allaah and in the Last Day. That is better and more suitable for final determination” [Nisaa:59]

Referring it to Allaah and His Messenger means to turn to Allaahs Book and the Sunnah of the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam).

1. What does the Quraan say about the Mawlid?
Nothing. Yes that's right.....NOTHING.
There is absolutely nothing in the Quraan that tells us to celebrate the birthday of the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam). Not one single ayah.
You see, all acts of worship are tawqeefi which means that they are not subject to personal opinion and it is not permissible to do any acts of worship except those which are approved by Shareeah.
So, for example, I cannot pick a special day or time, say the 22nd of every month, and start celebrating that day as a form of worship.
Why?
Because there is nothing in the Shareeah that permits me to do that.
Also, I cannot start praying three rakaah for Fajr from tomorrow, even if I want to worship Allaah more, because Fajr Salah is only two rakaat as commanded upon us by the Shareeah.
And similarly, if there is no order for us to celebrate the birthday of the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam), then we dont.
In fact, the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said: “Whoever innovates anything in this matter of ours (i.e., Islam), that is not part of it will have it rejected.” (Bukhaari).

Now someone might argue that we dont celebrate the Mawlid/Milad as an act of worship. So lets see what other evidences we have.

2. What does the Sunnah say about it?
Again, there is nothing in the Sunnah of the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) that shows us that the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) EVER celebrated his birthday or that of his wives, children, or Sahaabah.
There is not a single hadeeth that tells us that he (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) thought this day was significant enough to celebrate it.
Just think.....if there was any good in doing so, wouldnt he would have done so himself and wouldnt he have ordered the Sahaabah to do so?
And obviously, it is not possible that he (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) forgot to tell us about it, Aoodhu billaah!

3. Did the Sahaabah celebrate the Mawlid/Milad?
The Sahaabah were witnesses to the revelation of the Quraan.
They had the Prophet right in front of their eyes.
They ate, drank, sat, slept, talked, walked, lived with the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam).
If they misunderstood anything or were mistaken, the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) immediately corrected them. And thus, their understanding and practice of Islaam was the best.
Yet, when we look at the lives and practice of the Sahaabah, we find that none of them EVER celebrated the birth of their beloved Prophet, whether during his life or even after he passed away.
Not Abubakr, not Umar, not Uthman, not Ali, nor Aaishah, Ibn Umar, Ibn Masud, Talha, Az-Zubair, not a single Sahaabi.

Doesnt that prove anything?

The Sahaabah absolutely loved the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam). They gave up their homes, families, lives, everything they had... for his sake, in the blink of an eye. Yet this love did NOT promote them to celebrate his birth.
This love translated into the practical application of his teachings and NOT picking the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal as a day of celebration.

What about the Four Imaams and other Ulama?
Did any of the Imaams – Abu Haneefah, Maalik, al-Shaafi’i, Ahmad, al-Hasan al-Basri, do this or command others to do it or say that it was good? No. In fact, it was not even mentioned during the first and best three centuries.

The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said: “The best of mankind are my generation, then those who come after them, then those who come after them. (Bukhaari, Muslim and al-Tirmidhi).

And if the best of mankind did not celebrate his birth, then we should not either.
Actually, the celebration of the Prophets birthday appeared many centuries later. By this time, many of the features of true religion had disappeared and bidah had become widespread.
Think about it!
Can it be possible that the Sahaabah, the Imaams and the people of the best three centuries were unaware of the importance of celebrating the birthday of the Prophet or that they were lacking in their love for him?
And it was only those who came later who were aware of it or loved him more?!!! How can that be?!!

Actually, dear brother/sister in Islaam, TRUE love of the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) is shown and proven by following the guidance that he brought. So follow his Sunnah to the best of your ability and don't fall into innovated forms of worship. It is nothing but a trap of the Shaytaan.

“Say (O Muhammad): ‘If you (really) love Allaah, then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allaah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Aal ‘Imraan 3:31)

And remember the words of the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) when he said:
“The best of speech is the Book of Allaah, and the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad. The most evil of things are those which are newly-invented (in religion), and every innovation (bid'ah) is a going astray.”
(Muslim and al-Nisaai).

DEAR BROTHERS PLEASE STOP

DEAR BROTHERS PLEASE STOP BIDDAT IT WIL DESTROYED YOUR IMAAN IN OUR ISLAM IS NOT ALLOWED TO CELEBRATE BITHDAY & NEW YEAR PLEASE STOP DOING THIS JAZAK ALLAH KHAIR

I am asking a simple

I am asking a simple question here, what will happen if someone didnt celebrate Milad even its proofed(by weak evidences) its OK to do it? is it a sin if someone didnt celebrate Milad ? will they be question after death ? NO.
But those who celebrate are actually at great danger of being indulge in Bidath and Shirk, which can take them to Jahanum FIRE. The evidences for Milad are so weak, its like playing with fire, Muslims beware, Allah's punishiment is sever againt shirk and bidath, you are spoiling all your good deeds by this celebrating Milad which has nothing to do with real ISLAM.

Milad

Dear Mr. Anonymous,

I would like to put up a point:
When you say that there are weak evidences for the validity of Milad, then whats the problem. If you really want to go against it, then please provide proofs where it is very clearly written that celebrating Milad is a sin. I bet you cant get any.

Secondly you say it is "bidath" and "shirk"!! Will you be kind enough to define both these terms. Just be careful before you define them, cos i have a huge pile of questions to put upon you according to your response.

Bottom line is - celebrate the birth of Holy Prophet(saws), but under the boundaries of Sharia laws.

Expecting a sensible answer from your end.
Imran.

Milad un Nabi SAW

Assalamualaikum,
Why do we celebrate milad of Prophet SAW on the day he left this world? Prophet SAW was in great pain from the First of Rabbi-ul Awal till he was shifted to the Heaven on 12th Rabi ul Awal. Do you celebrate the days when our beloved Prophet was in suffering? This is innovated by the people who want us to go astray. Innovations lead to Hell.
Prophet SAW used to fast every Monday as he was born on Monday & in one hadith it is said that Monday & Thursday as the Aamaal are shown to Allah on these days so he fasted. If you love the Prophet SAW fast every Monday & Thursday.
Don't you feel that we should send Durood or salaam everyday not only on milad un Nabi. We should follow the Prophet SAW in each & every matter. People don't follow the prophet SAW but celebrate Milad. If they really love the Prophet SAW they should follow him & try to be good & pious muslims.

I agree; but that doesn't mean we condemn whats inappropriate. We should protest the spread of vehdanyat in TV and also the excess in "celebrating" the birth of my beloved Prophet (PBUH). But like another post states here, "are we celebrating the birth or death - since his visal was also the day of his birth?"

Doing one bad doesn't automatically say we can invent another. Remembering and celebrating the Prophet is by following his sunnah and not competing. Yes, we are competing other communities in "celebrating."

you got it wrong

The things you mentioned are outright HARAAM and thats not Bidah!!! So please come to your sences and give up the Bidah. Even after reading all these facts if it does not change you then you will be responsibke for your own deeds!!!

These filthy Scholars of Nizamia just issued edict (Fatwa) to relax law makers and to make people bit happy in the society. But in reality, they will not implement it wholeheartedly.

They will still make dummy models of two grand mosques i.e Makkah and Madina. lets see on 4Th and 5Th Feb 2012, during satanic procession on the roads.

I agreed your statement..bcoz of some Jahils plz don't blame whole community..Definitely there is no room what so ever for the people who cross the line of sharia to celeberate the Milaad and I'll be the first to slap this kids and show the real Etiquettes of Islam.
Secondly on this day!!! Prophet(s.a.w) born on this earth and on the same day Prophet went back to his beloved Allmighty lord Allah (s.w.t)..

Calling scholars filthy is

Calling scholars filthy is sign of corrupt & filthy personality. Scholars can only give fatawas they do not have the backing of any Govt or the community to implement them by force. None of the scholars are in favour of many wrong actions committed by Muslims so people should be careful while commenting upon the scholars. Oterwise kuttay ki dum har haal may tadhi hi rahaigi sirf kutta aur uski dum ki harkat badalti rahti hai

It is narrated that there were some people of Najd also present in the gathering and they requested the Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) to make du'a for Najd also. Another trick (Irony) that opposition dajjals big liars, use to attain is saying that some ignorant people have invent this all and It was never ever celebrated before in previous ages and etc. Let them have some glimpses of facts from the very true history.
..:: History of Celebrating Mawlid an-Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi wa Sallam ::..
1. Hadrat Allama Mulla Ali Qari saying the routine of the people of Madina Munawwarah writes,
“The people of Madina Munawwarah (May ALLLAH have Mercy on them) used to arrange and attend mawlid gatherings with enthusiasm and sincerity on the occasion of Mawlid Sharif.” (Mawrid ar-Riwa Fi Mawlid an-Nabawi, Page 29)

2. Ibne Jauzi says:
“Fala Zaala Ahlul Haramain ash-Shareefain Wal Misr, Wal Yemen, Wash Shaam Wa Saa’iri Bilaadil Arabi Minal Mashriqi Wal Maghribi Yahtafiloona Bimajlisi Maulidin Nabiyyi Alaihis Salaatu Was Salaam Wa Yafrahoona Biqudoomi Hilaali Rabi’il Awwali Biharkati Maulidin Nabiyyi (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam)”.
“People of Haramain Shareefain (Makkah and Madinah) and Egypt and Yemen and Syria and of the eastern and western cities of Arabia hold functions in celebration of the birth of the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam), rejoice at the sighting of the Rabi-ul-Awwal moon, bathe and put on their best dresses adorn themselves in various ways, put on scent, and give alms with great joy, and exert themselves in listening to the Milad of the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam). By doing so, they themselves attain to success, as it has been proved that by celebrating the Milad of the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) much good accrues the whole year round: security and comfort, greater means of livelihood, increase in children and in wealth, peace in cities and contentment and peace in homes”

All reference you mentioned are not Hadeeth

Wa'alaikum as salaam,All of those references or books never mentioned any Hadeeth or Sunnah except historic events long after the Wafaat of Prophet of Allah (PBUH). You must know that the last Sahaba who was alive was 110 Hijri and there is no indication or proof until that nor until Taba'een and Tabe-taba'een. I request all muslims to not to believe whatever comes except referred by Sahi Hadeeth. Moreover I guess, for the people of makka and madina celebrating Birthday of Prophet of Allah (PBUH) were doing so only during the rule of Turki. Perhaps mejority of scholars differ on the exact birthday of Prophet of Allah (PBUH) but mejority of them AGREE on His Wafaat 12 Rabbi ul Awwal. In the matters of Aqeeda we should be open for truth and search for it and bury the ego and Zidd.

Before 1857 there were no Ahl-e-hadees in India and the Najdis of today came to power wit th help of Britishers. It is a historical truth. in Saudi Arabia one can not celeberate Meelad as they say it is haram or Shirk & Bida etc etc. But Indian & English movies are freely available with Got. authrized licencess. Dear Al-Ain Saheb, You are giving history references of milad celebrations of 5th & 6th generations people of Islam. If so, what or how did they celebrate ?

3. Gatherings of Miladun Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam was switched to Prose in 3rd-4th Hijri then 700 years back from today, A pious and virtuous person named Umer bin Mullah Muhammad Mousli Alaihir RaHma established it on regular basis. Following him the great commander Sultan Salahuddin Ayyubi’s dearly loved Sultan Arbal Malik Abu Saeed Muzaffaruddin celebrated Miladun Nabi officially. Ibn-e-Khalqaan Arabali Sha’fai was eyewitness of that festival. According to “Tareekh-e-Mar’atuz Zaman” billion of rupees were used to spend on those fastvities. In the Starting of 7th Century of Hijri Calender; Great Scholar named Abul Khattab Umer Bin Hasan wah’hia Qalbi Undlasi Balansi wrote a book on the topic Meeladun Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam named “At-Tanveer Fee Mawlidis Sirajal Muneer”. In 1207, He went to Sultan Arbal’s castle and presented his book on Mawlid to him, for which he was awarded thousand Gold Coins from Sultan. This was the status and respect of Mawlid Shareef in hearts of earlier leaders of Islam. Not only Sultan Arbal, King of Egypt celebrated the Mawlid Shareef; Allama Ibne Juzri Alaihir RaHma is one the eyewitnesses. For the celebration of this festival 1000 Mithqal of Gold was spent on it. Sultan Abu Hamu Musa Talamsani and earlier rulers of Aqsa and Undalas used to Celebrate Miladun Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. Abdullah Tonsi Sum Talamsani has written the details of these festivals in his book “Rahal Arwah”.

9. Ibn Jawzi also wrote a complete book on Mawlid where he said:
In Haramayn (i.e. Makkah Mukarrama and Madina Munawwarah), in Egypt, Yemen rather all people of Arab world have been celebrating Mawlid for long. Upon sight of the moon in Rabi ul Awwal their happiness touches the limits and hence they make specific gatherings for Dhikr of Mawlid due to which they earn immense Ajr and Success. (Biyan al Milaad an Nabwi, Page No. 58)

10. Shah Waliullah Muhadith Dhelvi mentions one of his all time wonderful experiences as:
I took part in a gathering of Mawlid inside Makkah where people were sending Darood and Slaam upon Prophet (Peace be upon him) and mentioning the incidents which took place during the time of your birth (before and after) and those which were witnessed before you were appointed as a Nabi (such as Noor eliminating from Bibi Amina Radi ALLAHu Ta’ala Anha, she seeing Noor, woman proposing to Syeduna Abdullah Radi ALLAHu Ta’ala Anho on sight of Noor on his forhead etc…) suddeny I saw Noor to have enveloped one group of people, I don’t claim that I saw this with my bodlily eyes, nor do I claim that it was spiritual and Allah knows the best regarding these two, however upon concentration on these Anwaar a reality opened upon me that these Anwaar are of those Angels who take part in such gatherings, I also saw Mercy to be decending along with Anwaar of Angels. (Fayudh al Haramayn, Pages 80-81)

11. Sheikh ul Islam Imam Ibn Hajr al Haytami (Rahimuhullah) writes:
The gatherings of Mawlid and Adhkaar which take place during our time, they are mostly confined to good deeds, for example in them Sadaqat are given, Dhikr is done, Darud and Salam is sent upon the Prophet (Sallallaho Alaihi wa Sallam) and he is praised. (Fatawa al Hadithiyyah, Page No. 202)
All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu Alaihi wa Sallam. May He accept our humble efforts and grant us the capacity to be good and do good. Ameen!

misguided mulsims

Most of the muslims in old city midguided by muftis, murshid and grave pujaris, they are far from true islamic teaching, only they know preparing bagara khana and dalcha on any islamic events.majority of muslims parent did not educate their children about true islam.milad ul nabi never be celebarated by our beloved prophet (pbuh),any khulfayeh rashideen or sahabas.now our muslims brothers imitating the hindus rituals and spoiling the name of islam by introducing new festival.Allah give hidya to all old city muslims.

milad

Dear xyz, you are very well educated!lol. People are atleast preparing bagara khana and dalcha for others and poor. what are you doing??? only critisizing. There are many people like you now a days who dont even know the "I" of Islam but start expressing the high super education attained by perverts like you. First go and get your ethics right and then come for commenting.

How Hindus are imitated in

How Hindus are imitated in Meelad. Tatw ay Muslims also imitate Hindus in doing tawaf or shaving their heads in Umrah & Hajj. Stupidity is to say all muslims are miisguided as if this man is on right path. He seems to be a Najdi who have taken Kuffars as their Auliyahs as the history tells us

Fatwa from Nizamia is timely and should be adhered to it.

Fatwa issued by NiZamia is timely and every muslim of Hyderabad should strictly follow it, it is self explanatory and can be understood by a common man, the educated youths should try to explain to the uneducated and rein in the unruly youths who are making mockery of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH)birthday celebrations. It is surprising to note that some Muslim business houses are sponsoring events, flexies, lightings, stages, decorations etc.., they should be advised not to do so. The waste of food is very high during celebrations, try to control the wastage, and keep the surroundings clean.

Jashn E Eid Milad a byproduct of Sufism.

Islam is Universal. Sufism mainly a sub-continental is a byproduct of Shrines and vice versa that is nowhere connected to Islam. In fact it is a Satan influenced Diversion from worshipping One & Only God Allah and regretfully a collateral of Quranic Illiteracy among Muslims of the region. One reciting in daily 5 times prayers “Iyyaka Na’budu Wa Iyyaka Nasta’een” (1.5. You (Alone) we worship, and You (Alone) we ask for help (for each and everything) will never visit a Shrine and ask for the help from the dead. DISCOVER QURAN BY READING ITS TRANSLATION THAT WILL BE THE BEST LOVE FOR PROPHET MOHAMMED WHICH WAS BROUGHT BY HIM TO THE MANKIND AS GIFT FROM ALLAH.

Dhande pe laat nahin maar

Bhai mere dhande (buisness) pe laat mat maar, agar mere dargha par koi nahin aaega to ghar kaisa chalega.
Please dont hurt my buisness

It is not sub-continental

It is not sub-continental you moron. Check where Milad is celeberated all over the world. Except Saudi when Bin Baaz was at the top and Now Saudis have also started seerat conferences & gatherings in the recent past.
Make a search in the archives of Arabnews to know about it.

Your explanation of Iyyaka Nabudu is foolishness. It nowhere says seeking help from alive is not Shirk and seeking help from dead is. It is all got to do with tawassul & Istigasa which none of your clan including your master Ibn Taymiyyah could understand it.

Jamia Nizimia

I want to write some comments about Jamia Nizamia.

Jamia Nizamia itself is becoming a place of authentication for all the Bidat activities in the City and around.

First of all Mufti Khaleel Sahab and Mufti Ziauddin Naqshbandi Sahab should stop attending Death Anniversaries and Birth Anniversaries of different People which has nothing to do with the Islam. This all exageration leads toward Shirk and it will take them to (Hell)Jahannum.

I agree with you brother.

I agree with you brother.

Asalaam Alaikum,

Dear Muslims,

I have never seen these kind of filthy Scholars (Alims) of Nizamia that how they are changing their words as snakes change the colors timely.

It's good to see that they have at least realized that the music and dance forbidden (Haraam) in Islam and also creating panic, annoyance, and noise pollution on the roads.

Allhamdu Lillah, Now they have released edict against all these forbidden Acts during celebration, and I am sure one day they will accept right faith and bar wholly even against Eid Milad celebration as Shrik and Biddah.

What a great change!

These filthy scholars of Jamia Nizamia are root cause for all these kind of Shirk and Biddah by deviating and tempting ignorant people to stage such events in the name of Islam.

ALLAH may guide them the right path (Ameen)

ITS A WELCOMING DESCISION ,.......ALTHOUGH IT CAME LATE BUT CONSTRUCTIVE..!WE MUSLIMS WERE INDULGED IN IMITATING OTHER COMMUNITIES FESTIVALS WHERE LOUD MUSIC IS PLACED N DEITY'S ARE DECORATED..ETC.AND MORE OVER IT WAS PAINFUL WITH THE LOUD SOUND THAT DISTURBED THE OLD BED RIDDEN PEOPLE WHO PREFFER SILENCE N SERENITY.
THANKS TO ALMIGHTY WHO GAVE HIDAYAH..

Good Path

People need to understand this fatwa and also understand the value of Islam in lights of quran and hadith..

May be I am wrong, People ignoring Namaz and attending and giving high preference to Jalsa's and rallies on this Occasion..

Please rememeber, when my and All Prophet was born, Allah said, Mohammed is a Ramath to All human kind, But now if go thru old city we find every body is competing with each other, and not knowing the fact that there is our poor brothers and sisters who can be help by money which we are using for competing each other on Milad.

Please All Don't take me wrong..

Kind Regards
Shaik Muzzafar

Ye musalman hain jinhe dekh ke sharmae yahood

Ye nizamia aur deoband ke bikau muftees???????
Fatwa ki ahmiyat tab hai jab ke woh fatwa quaran aur hadees ke mufahemat me ho. agar fatwa quran aur hadees ke khilaaf ho to usko accept nahi kiya ja sakta.
nizmai ke muftees jo haraam ko halaal ka fatwa de diye, Insurance jayez hai ka fatwa diye hain, deobandi ke muftee ka to zee tv par khula video footage bataya tha ke woh kah raha tha ke aap paise laiye hum aap ko jaisa aap chache fatwa denge.
Arey jo sahaba aur aimma nahi kare, tum us cheez ko jayez hone ka fatwa de rahe ho, afsoos. Ye muftees to imaam ko bhi nahi mante balke un se aage nikal gaye, waah.
Awaam ko ghor o fikr se kaam lena chahiye.

Interest

Inke paas to suuth (interest) bhi jayaz hain.

Assalamu Alaykum Bhai,

Assalamu Alaykum Bhai, bilkul sahi bole bhai. mai to ye sab kuch jo aap bole nahi dekha lekin aap agarche dekhe ho aur Allah agarche gawah ho to aap barabar bole. Lekin saath hi saath ye bhi bata dena tha ki jo Milad-un-Nabi ke mubarak mauke pe aajkal jo horaha hai apne shahar me kya wo ekdum jayaz hai aur kya wo Allah aur uske Habeeb, Muhammad Mustafa Sallallahu wa Alayhi wassallam, ki nazar me nek aur jayaz kaam hai.

WEL SAID JAZAK ALLAH

WEL SAID JAZAK ALLAH

DEAR BRO PLS READ IT CAREFULLY & TRY TO GAIN ISLAMIC KNOWLEDGE

Hazrat Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "If anyone introduces in our matter something which does not belong to it, will be rejected". in another narration in Muslim says: "If anybody introduces a practice which is not authenticated by me, it is to be rejected".
[Muslim Book 18, Chapter 06, Hadith # 4266].
Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Ibrahim {A.S} Ayat 19. "Allah has created the heavens and the earth with truth" This Hadith lays down a very important principle. Unfortunately, Muslims have not attached any importance to this Hadith and the principle given in it with the result that innovations in the Deen have become so common that they have been taken for true Deen; our people act upon them and are made to practice them. One reason for this is their lack of education and ignorance about Deen. The second reason is their lack of understanding of the principle prescribed in this Hadith although it is stated in very explicit terms.
The principle that we learn from this Hadith is that every such action or activity is innovation which is done as a virtue and to gain the Pleasure of Allah but is not consonant with the teachings of the Qur'an and Sunnah, or which does not agree with the interpretation of the Nuss (text) given by the Companions of the Prophet (PBUH) or their successors (Tabi`un). The reason being that the period of the Companions and the Tabi`un is the Khair-ul-Qurun (the best of all generations). Thus any action or activity that is deprived of the support of these generations falls in the category of heresies.
PLEASE READ QURAN WITH TRANSLATION, WITHOUT YOU CANNOT UNDERSTAND ISLAM AND ANYINE MAKE YOU PEOPLE FOOL, ISLAM IS THE RELIGION WHERE A BEGGAR STAND & KING STAND SIDE BY SIDE IN THE MOSQUE AND THE KING HAS NO RIGHT TO TELL THE BEGGAR TO STAND SOME OTHER PLACE HOW YOU STAND NEAR ME BECAUSE ITS GOD RULE.
BUT NOW A DAYS SOME CLEVER PEOPLES CHANGES THE ISLMAIC PRATICES TOTALLY OPPSITE THE TEACHING OF ALLAH AND RASOOL (PBUH) FOR THIER PERSONAL INTERESTS.
AND THE POOR MUSLIMS MUCH KNOWLEDGE ABOUT ISLAM BECAUSE THEIR MAJOR TIME OF THIER LIFE GOES TO EARN BREAD & BUTTER AND THE SOME CLEVER PEOPLE TAKE ADVANTAGE AND USING COMMON MUSLIM LIKE A SLAVE AND THEY MAKE THEMSELF LIKE A KING (WITH OUT CROWN)
AS PER MY UNDERTSANDING ABOUT ISLAM
