Ministry of Home Affairs has invited eight political parties of the State to participate in the all-party meeting to be held on 28th December in New Delhi.
It was announced that there won’t be any discussions on Justice Sri Krishna Commission’s Report because this meeting is being convened to consider the present political situation prevailing in the state.
Central Govt. would take a decision on Telangana after this meeting.
However, there are no high hopes with this meeting.
It may be recalled that the then Home Minister, Mr. P.Chidambaram had convened an all Party meeting on 6th January this year in which a copy of Sri Krishna commission’s Report was given to all the parties who attended the meeting. They were asked to submit their opinions after reviewing this report.
YSR Congress has two M.P’s and 17 MLA’s. It has also been invited for the meeting.
According to reliable sources, P.M. Dr. Manmohan Singh and C.M. Mr. N.Kiran Kumar Reddy have urged the Congress President, Ms. Sonia Gandhi to take an immediate decision on Telangana issue.
Ministry of Home Affairs has sent invitations to Congress, TDP, TRS, Majlis, CPI, CPM and YSR Congress.
Congress, TDP and YSR Congress parties have not expressed their opinions so far about Telangana issue.
