Mr. Balraj has been rendering selfless humanitarian services through Manu Seva Madhava Seva Society for the past 6 years. He provides shelter to poor, abandoned men and women or those who face inhuman behavior of disobedient children. At a time when communal forces are trying to disrupt communal harmony and Ganges-Yamuna culture of Hyderabad Mr. Balraj is a ray of hope.
A deserted woman Chand Sultana died yesterday at the old age home. Balraj made funeral arrangements with the help of musallis of Masjid Kalan Golconda, while the daughter of the deceased woman who is said to be residing in Mumbai could not see the dead mother, even though she was informed about the death. Balraj served paralysed Chand Sultana as an obedient son should have done.
Citing the reason which became the cause of inception of old age home, Mr. Balraj told that his mother was very ill and was bed-ridden. He used to serve her with full dedication but his wife didn’t like it. She told Balraj that if he wanted to serve his mother he could do it by staying in some other house. She refused to live with Balraj’s ailing mother. Balraj and his mother shifted to another house. One day Balraj’s mother died leaving him alone. That day Balraj thought that as his wife didn’t like to serve her mother-in-law, there may be many such daughters-in-law who consider their mothers-in-law a burden. So he set up the old age home to serve such abandoned men and women.
