Over 72% candidates clear POLYCET – 2015

More than 72% of the candidates, who had appeared for the POLYCET-2015, have qualified for the common entrance examination for admission into Polytechnics.

Announcing the results, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari informed that of 100,200 candidates registered, 94,280 had appeared for the examinations held across Telangana State on May 31. Of them, 69,074 candidates have qualified representing 72.88 %. Out of 65,869 boys appeared for the examination 46,959 qualified , indicating 71.29 %. Similarly out of 28,911 Girls appeared for the examination, 22,115 have qualified representing a pass percentage of 76.49%.

The minimum qualifying marks at POLYCET-2015 is 30% i.e. 36 marks out of 120 for all category candidates, except SC and ST for whom there is no minimum qualifying marks, All the SC / ST candidates who have appeared for the POLYCET examination have qualified and have been assigned ranks based on their performance.

Ranking has been assigned to candidates based on total marks secured at POLYCET-2015. In case of tie in the total marks secured, the same has been resolved by awarding a better rank to candidate who secured higher marks in mathematics, and in case of the tie still persisting, by taking marks secured in physics into consideration.
