PM Modi wishes Bhutan on their National Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday greeted Bhutan on the Himalayan nation’s national day, adding that New Delhi cherishes its friendship with Thimphu.

The Prime Minister took to twitter to convey his greetings.

“On their National Day, I convey my greetings to the people of Bhutan and extend my best wishes for the development journey of Bhutan,” he wrote.

“We cherish our long-standing friendship with Bhutan. Experienced the warm nature of people of Bhutan during my visit,” Prime Minister Modi added, also posting a photo taken during his recent visit to that nation.

After taking oath, Prime Minister chose to travel to Bhutan as his first foreign trip as part of his assertive foreign policy in order to promote trade and investment. Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay had said that he felt very humbled and honoured by Prime Minister Modi’s decision to visit his country.
