Wherever bomb explosions take place, police becomes active and claims to arrest the culprits. Do you think that police arrests real miscreants? It is your misconception. It arrests innocent young Muslims and gives them harsh punishments. In some cases, Indian Law comes to their rescue and exonerates them. Judiciary is certainly a ray of hope for such victims which exposes the crimes of the police.
In most such cases, it has been noticed that the narrow-minded police officials announce without prior investigation that the Muslims youths or Muslim organizations are behind these incidents. The best example of it is Makka Masjid Bomb blast case. A.P. police shamelessly blamed the Muslim youths for this incident and booked fake cases.
But later it came to be known that Swamy Aseemanand and his associates were the real culprits. In the same way, there many youths who are imprisoned in fabricated criminal cases by the police and they have been behind the bars. By implicating them in fake cases, their lives have been spoiled. One such young man is Mr. Syed Wasif Hyder. The narrow-minded communal police officials have ruined his life. Tehelka.com has thrown light on 33 such Muslim youths whose lives have also been spoiled by the police. These are the youths who have been in various prisons for the past ten years. Their only crime is that they are “Muslims”.
On 31st July 2001, the life of Mr. Syed Wasif Hyder was changed in the late hours of that night. Some persons knocked at his door. They were plain clothed policemen. Asif was born in 1972. He was working in a multinational American Company as a sales manager. Initially, he thought that he was kidnapped but the F.I.R prepared by the police revealed that he has been arrested on 3rd August. The next morning, our press, which is infamous for publishing irresponsible reports, blackened its pages by carrying his fake story. A largely circulated newspaper created its title as “three ISI agents arrested”. It also applauded the efforts of the police and established his contacts with Hizbul Mujahideen of Kashmir. Criticisms started pouring in on Asif Hyder from various corners. Media maintained silence when court declared him innocent. This young man spent 8 years in jail. On 18th November 2012, a delegation led by Mr. Prakash Karat made a representation to President of India to rehabilitate this young man. CPI also warned that there would be dire consequences if the bill is going to be passed the Parliament. According to Mr. Prakash Karat in the bill many such clauses have been included which empower police to arrest anybody. Getting bail would become different.
In the same manner, Mohammed Amer and Syed Maqbool Shah of Kashmir were also implicated in fake cases and they were kept in prison for 14 years.
Mr. Mohammed Amer told the President of India that in the name of war against terrorism, security agencies have been inventing imaginary terrorists, which do not have their existence in the country.
Syed Maqbool Shah recollected the horrible days spent in jail. He informed that many such youths are still in jail. He told that when he was released after 14 years of imprisonment, he had no job. He is let down in the society with suspicion. He is deprived of leading an honorable life. Communal minded police officers are responsible for ruining his life. If these police officials experience these troubles, they would know what humanity is. These youths have only one question in minds that why were they targeted. Its simple reply is that they were targeted because they are Muslims.
Mr. Mohammed Amer presented a list of 33 such Muslim youths who are still in jail.
When some of them came back to their houses, someone’s mother was lost, some other young man’s father had passed away and the other young man’s sister was already buried. These youths asked the police officers, would it be possible for them to get back the lives of their relatives who had left them while they were in prison, Mr. Wasif Hyder of Kanpur says that he is unemployed now. He is not in a position to start his own business because his relatives and friends refuse to lend him money. The tragedy is that the Muslim youths who have been arrested in Makkah Masjid Bomb Blast case have not yet been released, although Hindu terrorists have confessed their crime.
