Mumbai, Fabruary 04: Ever since item numbers have become a rage among Bollywood’s A-list actresses, every actress worth her latka jhatkas is trying do one. So, it isn’t surprising to learn that actor Priyanka Chopra may soon be following suit.
While the audiences are still recovering from the onslaught of numbers like Munni Badnaam Hui, Sheila Ki Jawani and Chikni Chameli, insiders reveal that Priyanka will soon join the bandwagon of actors doing item numbers. “Priyanka is being considered by Ram Gopal Varma to do an item number for his forthcoming film Department,” says a source. The film boasts of actorsAmitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Rana Daggubati and Naseeruddin Shah andrevolves around the internal politics of the police department.
Though actor Katrina Kaif was first considered to continue with her recent item number trend in Department as well, apparently the actor turned down the offer. The source informs, “The producers wanted Katrina to do the item number but she backed out citing some problems. So, now they are currently looking for the right person. Priyanka is on the top of the list. Nothing has been made official yet as they are still figuring out the details.” If Priyanka indeed ends up doing the number, it will be the actor’s first item number.
