After completing questioning of MIM MLA Akbaruddin a day earlier during the five-day police custody, the police shifted him back to the district jail in the early hours of Wednesday.

Though he was sent to 14 days judicial custody, the police had succeeded in securing five-day under their custody for questioning. However, the police completed their grilling him within four days and hence sent him back to judicial custody.
After subjecting to medical tests, the police produced him before the Nirmal magistrate at 5 am and then sent him to the district jail. Meanwhile, the police also filed a petition in the court for sending the MLA’s voice recorder to match his voice in the CD containing his alleged hate speech. The MLA had contested the voice in the CD and charged that it was morphed and doctored.
The counsel for Akbaruddin also filed a bail petition in the division bench of the district court.
