Sack Sabitha, demands Shankar Rao after attack

Hyderabad, December 20: Handlooms and Textiles Minister Dr P Shankar Rao on Tuesday demanded suspension of Home Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy from the State Cabinet for her alleged involvement on attack on his convoy at NTR Colony near LB Nagar.

Talking to media persons at the State Secretariat after the attack on his convoy with eggs and stones at NTR Colony, Shankar Rao alleged that the supporters of Sabitha Indra Reddy and her son Karthik Reddy were behind the attack. He attributed the attack on his convoy to “his fight against land encroachments in the State.”

Stating that he has informed the police in advance about his programme at NTR colony, Shankar Rao said that the police have failed to make proper security arrangements due to pressure mounted on them by the Home Minister. He asked the Chief Minister to remove Home Minister from the Cabinet and order Central Bureau of Investigation probe against her.

Stating that the Home Minister has illegal properties worth Rs 5,000 crore in the State, Shankar Rao said that he would submit the list of her properties with proof to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and the High Command. He also said that he would lodge a complaint with the High Command over the attack on his convoy. “I will also launch a legal battle against her till I get due justice,” he said while asking the Chief Minister to respond on the attack immediately.

After attending the media session, Shankar Rao complained about high blood pressure. He was admitted to the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital and later shifted to CARE Hospital for further check up.
