London, June 30: Saudi Arabia has warned NATO that it would pursue policies that could lead to "untold and possibly dramatic consequences" if Iran obtains nuclear weapons, a British newspaper reported.
The Guardian newspaper quoted Prince Turki al-Faisal, a former Saudi intelligence chief and ambassador to Washington and Britain, speaking to senior NATO officials earlier this month at an unpublicised meeting at a British air base.
Faisal did not outline what the policies would be, but the Guardian quoted an unnamed Saudi official in Riyadh it said was close to the prince as saying that Iranian nuclear weapons would compel the Gulf state do develop its own nuclear arms.
"We cannot live in a situation where Iran has nuclear weapons and we don't ... If Iran develops a nuclear weapon, that will be unacceptable to us and we will have to follow suit," the Guardian quoted the official as saying.
Iran says its nuclear programme is for peaceful purposes, but Saudi Arabia, other Gulf states, Israel and the West fear the Islamic republic is developing nuclear weapons.
Earlier on Wednesday, Britain accused Iran of carrying out covert tests of a missile that could carry a nuclear warhead, in violation of a UN resolution, an accusation which Tehran immediately denied.
Sunni Muslim Saudi Arabia and its Sunni Gulf neighbours view Shi'ite Iran with suspicion, and accuse it of meddling in the region to increase its influence, charges Tehran denies.

SKILL enhancement par kaam hona chaahiye. IIT courses that impart SKILL within 6-8 months are KEY and crucial. But parents of the girl do not have the means even to feed her for 6-8 months ! This is the problem.
Certain SUNNATHS have to be dropped. One is marriage. Marriage is NOT cumpulsory.If one is poor, better remain single. Second : No need to marry the girl once she attains puberty (age 12). Respect the law of the land and marry her at age 18. If a girl attains skill., she can remain single. REMAINING SINGLE IS ALSO AN OPTION. Everyone need not marry and breed rabbits. That is an outdated world-view.
Unless fresh thinking and fresh attitudes are accepted by the community., the titanic of muslims will sink. All over the world, it is sinking. Agar education afford nahin kar saktey.. SKILL ENHANCEMENT. Carpenter. Plumber. Electrician. A/c mechanic. Construction worker., plastering., painter., these can be attained in 6-8 months. The Govt. will not do anything. They are happy., to see muslims suffering.
Let alone bigger things., the Govt. does not even supply municipal water to Indian Muslims. 80% of muslim bastis are without water. This is THEIR WAY to depress muslims. Once a person (he/she) wakes up., and finds no water... he feels so depressed. So his/her day starts with depression... and ends with heat and depression.
Get up and attain skill. Discard the Marriage Sunnat. Think of ROTI-ROZI., and live SINGLE with dignity and honour.
