SMS competition to celebrate voters’ day

Kohima, January 06: An SMS competition has been launched by the Election Commission of India to remember January 25 as the ‘First National Voters Day’ in commemoration of its Diamond Jubilee celebration.

According to official sources here today, the jubilee is being celebrated with the theme 'greater participation for a stronger democracy'. Anybody can send SMS to cell number 9402902072 to participate in the competition.

The name of the finalist will appear in all local papers from January 5 to January 24.

Among the finalists, the first, second and third prize holders will be awarded Rs 5,000, Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000 each respectively on the ‘National Voters Day’, sources said.
