June 02:

New Delhi, June 02: Sonu Punjaban, who is facing charges in various cases of prostitution in the Capital, is in the news once again.

This time the police are on the lookout for two of her “ relatives”, who allegedly gangraped a 25- year old woman.

The incident took place at Sonu’s residence in the Mehrauli area of South Delhi on Monday. Sonu, who recently came out of jail, is also alleged to have been present at the house during the rape.

The victim somehow managed to escape and reported the matter at the Mehrauli police station late in the night.

A medical examination confirmed rape after which a case was registered.

“ We are trying to verify if Sonu was at her residence when the incident happened.

For now, we’ve found no one at Sonu’s residence and a search is on to nab the accused,” a police officer said.

He also said the police were on the lookout for Sonu.

The two accused, Neeraj Kumar and Goldy, are said to be in their mid- 20s and they reportedly live in West Delhi.

The victim, a resident of Malviya Nagar, said she had become friends with the two men. She said on Monday, Neeraj and Goldy asked her to come to Sonu’s Mehrauli house.

The woman alleged the two men dragged her into a room before taking turns at raping her.
