State seeks money from centre for UN Convention on Bio-Diversity

Hyderabad, February 08:

State will ask for 800 crore rupees from the centre for hosting the 11th Conference of Parties to the UN Convention on Bio-Diversity in Hyderabad from October 1 to 19, 2012, which will be one of the largest international conferences hosted by the country so far.

Delegates including Heads of States and Environment Ministers from 193 countries will be attending the conference.

Government agreed to provide 200 crore rupees form the budget for the programme. As part of the Greater Hyderabad Development plan, GHMC will develop roads in 3 phases.

In its 1st phase 170 kilometers long main road will be developed for which 700 crore rupees will be allocated.
