Indore, March 02: VHP leader Pravin Togadia defended Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur - arrested recently in connection with the murder of former RSS pracharak Sunil Joshi - while expressing dissatisfaction about punishment awarded to convicts in Godhra train burning case.
"All this is false. Sadhvi Pragya and Aseemanand were innocent. Some Pakistani elements are tarnishing the Hindu community's image," the senior VHP leader told reporters here.
"I feel that Pakistani elements have sneaked into the government and the administration. They should be found out," Togadia added.
Joshi, an accused in Samjhauta Express blast, was shot dead in Madhya Pradesh's Dewas district on December 29, 2007 and Sadhvi Pragya was arrested in this connection on February 29 this year in Mumbai by Madhya Pradesh police.
On the punishment awarded to the convicts in Godhra train burning incident by court yesterday, Togadia expressed unhappiness.
"This decision had not done justice to the Hindu community. Only 11 convicts have been handed down capital punishment...All the accused should get the gallows," he said.
Togadia also said the Gujarat government should file appeal in the High Court against the decision.
