The top student leader of Maryland is visiting Hyderabad from January 12th to 18th 2015.

Raaheela Ahmed is a senior at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP) studying Finance and Economics from the Robert H. Smith School of Business and the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences, respectively. She is currently serving as the 2014-2015 Student Regent on the Board of Regents for the University System of Maryland, a representative position of over 160,000 students in 12 institutions and 2 regional centers.

Raaheela Ahmed is the recipient of numerous scholarships. In addition to her membership in the University Honors Program, Raaheela has participated in the Hinman CEOs Technology Entrepreneurship Program, the Emerging CFOs Fellows Program, the Rawlings Undergraduate Leadership Fellows Program, and Smith School Fellows Ambassadors, all while maintaining membership on the Dean List.

Beyond her accomplishments at the University of Maryland, Raaheela Ahmed has demonstrated business acumen, political leadership, and community involvement. In her late teens she served as CEO of SendWithMe.com, an online platform for people to send or deliver packages. In 2012, she received more than 23,000 votes as a candidate for the Prince George’s County Board of Education, District 5. She has been a mentor with America Reads*America Counts and a coordinator with Health Leads.

In 2011 she was honored by Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley’s with a Governor’s Citation for Outstanding Service.
