February 02:

New Delhi, February 02: Two men who cheated several educated unemployed youths by promising them jobs in multinationals have been arrested, police said Thursday.

Lalit Kumar, 59, and Amarjeet Rana, 60, were arrested Wednesday from Karol Bagh in central Delhi.

According to police, the two would charge Rs.40-50,000 from each client. They had earned more than Rs.10 lakh since 2010.

The arrests followed complaints by some victims who said the accused had promised them jobs in a multinational company with a monthly salary of around Rs.50,000.

"The accused failed to provide them the promised jobs and also refused to return their money," said a police official.

According to police, the duo had been involved in another cheating case in 2006 and had served two years in Tihar jail.

"As they did not have a fixed source of income and were in the habit of leading lavish lifestyles, they took to crime for easy money," said the official.
