US Congresswoman Gabbard calls for collaboration of public, private sectors in cyber security

United States Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard on Sunday called for collaboration of between the public and private sectors in creating and enhancing cyber security , discussing the various areas of cooperation between New Delhi and Washington DC which take place in Bangalore.

“Cyber security and cyber attacks, this is an area where I think, again both in the government as well as in the private sector within business and industry there is a lot of area for cooperation and collaboration,” Gabbard said, while interacting with pioneers of the information technology (IT) sector and other entrepreneurs here.

Gabbard also noted that her nation has more defence ties with India than with any other country, adding that the relations had the capability to grow.

“The United States has more military-to-military partnerships, engagements and exercises with India than any other countries of the world, which I think is very significant when you look at the benefit that has come from that and where there is still is potential too, to grow,” she said.

“A country should have stability for strong national defence, which is also important for economic development,” she added.

Earlier this week, Gabbard, who is the sole Hindu member of the US Congress, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital. The two leaders discussed a broad range of issues, including bilateral ties. (ANI)
