Hyderabad, March 06:

Ranmastpura is a Muslim predominant area. It assumes importance for Quraish community since a slaughterhouse was running in the locality for more than 50 years. In June 2003, the High court ordered the closure of the slaughterhouse. The government proposed modernization of the slaughterhouses to which the court agreed and said that after the modernization is done the court order would remain cancelled.

Since it was the matter of employment for Quraish community, immediate attention was given for its construction. The construction began on 21st December 2009. Ramky Enviro Engineers was given the contract. The works were slated to be completed within two years, but even after three years, the slaughterhouse is still incomplete. During his visit to the site, mayor also showed his anger on use of substandard material in the construction work.
