People have decided to get rid of Rawat govt: Satpal Maharaj

New Delhi: Alleging that the Harish Rawat government had become “synonymous with corruption”, senior BJP leader Satpal Maharaj today said people have decided to get rid of it.

Addressing a large public meeting here as part of the party’s Pardafash rally, he said the sting CD had “exposed” Rawat completely.

“Everyone has seen him offering money and ministerial berths to buy support of disgruntled MLAs in the sting CD and there is no way he can defend himself. He stands completely exposed,” he said.

Maharaj, who quit the Congress to join BJP shortly before the last Lok Sabha polls, credited himself with the idea of having a rail link up to Karnaprayag.

“The vision of having a rail link up to Karnaprayag was mine and it is now close to becoming a reality,” he said.
