Out of these 28 newly electrified villages, four are in Assam, five in Chhattisgarh, three in Jharkhand, 10 in Meghalaya and 6 in Rajasthan, the statement said.

“10,079 villages have been electrified till date. Out of remaining 8,373 villages, 525 villages are uninhabited. 5,069 villages are to be electrified through grid, 2,590 villages to be electrified through off-grid where grid solutions are out of reach due to geographical barriers and 189 villages are to be electrified by the state government,” it said.
