Hyderabad: Even as the demonetisation has hardly hit small businessmen of the city, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has sealed 106 business centres at Afzal Gunj and Siddiamber Bazar. The victims strongly protested the drive by GHMC, but municipal officials paid no heed to the protest and sealed all business establishments with the help of police.
After the hearing a complaint filed against illegal encroachments on the footpath, the High Court had ordered to slap notices on the encroachers. Submitting counter affidavit the authorities of the business establishments claimed that they had not encroached footpaths. But unsatisfied with their claim, the High Court conducted enquiry on its own and issued orders to seal all those business establishments; on which municipal officials conducted the drive against footpath encroachment and sealed 106 shops.
