108 Emergency vehicle fleet to be increased: Minister


The Telangana State Government is increasing the number of 108 Emergency Response Service Vans very soon, Health Minister Dr C. Laxma Reddy said while interacting with the media after inaugurating Quest Imaging Center and Raeequest Teleradiology Services here on Wednesday.

“We have purchased 150 new vehicles to be pressed into 108 Ambulance Service. They will be added to the existing fleet of 316 vans. The interiors of the new vehicles are expected to be ready to be pressed into service in a month, he said. When asked why the government was restricting certain ailments to be treated at government hospitals, he replied that government hospitals were equipped to handle such ailments.

The Telangana Government was keen on modernizing government hospitals right from Primary Health Centers so that the poor can get benefit. Teleradiology, which is the transmission of radiological patient’s images like X-rays, CT scans and MRI scans, from one location to another for the purposes of sharing studies with other radiologists and physicians and seeking expert consultation. He congratulated Raddquest Teleradiology Services for introducing the Teleradiology Service Center.

Dr P. Kalyan Sekhar, Dr Vamshi and Dr Gopi, Radiolosits, started the facilities at an investment of Rs 2.5 crore. For the first time in the city Teleradiology Services are offered under the umbrella of a corporate diagnostic center, they said, adding that Teleradiology service was first introduced in India in Bengaluru in 1992, they said.
