Rameswaram: A total of 1100 women were today enrolled into an accident insurance scheme by BJP women’s wing leader from Kanyakumari Victoria Gowri and the party’s National committee member K.Muralidharan.
Besides members of the BJP women’s wing tied “Rakhi” and distributed sweets to Naval personnel, including Commodore Alok Bhatnagar, Naval Officer-in-Charge (Tamil Nadu and Puducherry) and Area commander Bodhra and celebrated Rakshabandhan.
Gowri said 12,000 women would be brought under the scheme in each assembly constituency. A member would get Rs two lakh coverage in case of accident for payment of just 12 under the scheme, she said.
