11,428 Vidya Volunteers appointment soon: Srihari

The State Government has taken a decision to fill up 11,428 Vidya Volunteers soon with Rs 12,000 per month salaries for next academic year Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari has said. The government has also approved to recruit 8792 regular Teacher posts through TSPSC he said addressing a press conference at Secretariat here. Srihari said that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has approved the appointment of Vidya Volunteers with a salary hike from existing Rs 8000 to Rs 12000 a month and district collectors will appoint them. Since regular appointment will take time it was decided to make an alternate arrangement of Vidya Volunteers he said. KCR has agreed to release Rs 420 cr to strengthen the universities and colleges with infrastructure and facilities.

We are planning to launch 34 Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalayas in districts out of 84 schools approved by the Centre with funds Rs 91.84 cr against the state appeal for 110 schools in backward mandals he said adding that Rs 2.70 cr released. It was also decided to extend education facility to the street children and orphan boys by setting up residential schools in every district using central funds. Hyderabad and Khammam districts have started these schools and the rest of 29 districts will get the same in near future. He also said that the government will appoint 1061 faculty posts in universities after submission of a report by former Vice Chancellor Tirupathi Rao which is expected in a month. We are examining whether DSC and TET will be conducted simultaneously by addressing related issues he said adding that some schools are being upgraded as junior colleges. He also said that steps will be taken to control fees structure in private schools after receiving a report from the committee.

Referring to unified service rules for teachers and a related meeting he had with Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu recently in Delhi, Srihari said that President Pranab Mukherjee is likely give assent soon as the Centre has already given its nod. (NSS)
