12 held under Treasure Trove Act for digging earth in Old city

Hyderabad: Twelve persons, including a software engineer, were arrested by the Hussaini Alam police for digging earth in a house behind Iqbal-ud-Daula Devdi (Jagdish Huts) for the past 15 days for unearthing a treasure trove.
Charminar Division Asst. Commissioner of Police K. Ashok Chakravarthy said on a tip-off, the Hussaini Alam police raided the house and found that the house owner Omar was digging earth in his house for hidden treasure. When questioned, Omar admitted he was carrying out digging in his house for a treasure.
Inspector A. Balaji effected the arrest of house owner Mohd Umar alias Irafan, Haji Masoor, Abed Ali of Sangareddy, Mohd Afsar of Santhoshnagar, Syed Mujeeb of Patancheruvu, Mohd Kaleel of Patancheruvu, Mohd Fahar of Jahanuma, Syed Bila, C. Mahesh of Nagaram, Mohd Allauddin of Rein Bazar, Mohd Majeed, Y. Sravan, a software engineer of DIV Colony, ECIL for committing the offences under Section 427 IPC and Sec. 20 of Indian Treasure Trove Act, 1878. (NSS)
