12 pc reservations to Muslims in all fields inevitable: intellectuals

Keeping in view the poor socio-economic and educational status of minorities especially Muslims in the newly formed Telangana State, 12 percent reservations to Muslims are inevitable. These views were expressed by the intellectuals during a round table conference held here at Madina Education Centre Nampally, on Saturday, by Telangana Muslim Reservation Joint Action Committee. Mr. Haneef Ahmed President Telangana Muslim Reservation Front presided over the conference while Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, Chairman Telangana Joint Action Committee Prof. Kodanda Ram, retd. Chief Justice Chandra Kumar, Telangana CPI State General Secretary C Venkat Reddy, CPIM Vimalapally Venkat Ramaiah, Chairman TRC Mr. M Veda Kumar, Prof. Gali Vinod Kumar, Mr. Mushtaq Malik, Mr. Khaled Rasool Khan, Mr. Khaleequr Rahman, Mr. Sanaullah Khan, Mr. Osman bin Mohammed Al-Hajari, Mr. Rahman Sufi, Mr. P Yadgiri, Mr. Mohammed Rahmat, Mr. Shafiullah Quadri, Welfare Party of India, Farooq Ali Khan, Khaja Nazimuddin and others attended the conference.

Addressing the conference Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan claimed that Muslims’ patience was being tested on national level and both the centre and state governments were adopting same attitude towards Muslims.

Taking a dig at the self-styled Muslim leaderships, Mr. Zaheeruddin asked the Muslim leadership who have neglected Muslim issues to introspect. Welcoming each and every movement run for Muslim reservations, Mr. Khan appealed the countrymen to support such movements.

Prof. Kodandaram, Justice Chandra Kumar, Prof. Gali Vinod Kumar and others also spoke on the occasion.
