12% reservation for Muslims – Entire Muslim society active

Hyderabad: The movement launched by Siasat Urdu Daily for getting 12% reservations for Muslims in the fields of Education and Employment is gathering momentum in all the districts of Telangana State. Muslims have been sending representations to Tahsildars and Collectors of the districts. They are also submitting memorandum to people’s representatives. When the leaders are participating in public functions and other meetings, people are submitting their representations to them.

It may be noted that Mr. Amer Ali Khan, News Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily who is the spirit behind this movement had already declared that this movement is neither against any political party, nor in favour of anyone, it is in favour of Muslims only so that their future becomes bright.

After this announcement, everybody from Muslim Society is associating himself with this movement so that this campaign could be strengthened. The proforma suggested by Siasat Urdu Daily is reaching every house. It is reported that Students’ Organizations, Social Activists and other organizations are also associating themselves with this movements.

Several commissions and committees have already mentioned that the Muslims are backward in the fields of education and employment. Now that CM of Telangana State, Mr. KCR had made a promise that he would provide 12% reservation to Muslims. His promise depicts the Govt. plan towards the welfare of Muslim community but the abnormal delay in translating this promise into action is creating apprehensions among the Muslim community. Although the Muslims do not suspect the intensions of the CM but the delay in taking the decision to provide 12% reservation is worrying the Muslims since they have an apprehension that they will lose many jobs if 12% reservation is not provided.

There are reports that many people submitted their representations in the districts of Hyderabad, Nalgonda, Nizamabad, Medak, Warangal and Adilabad.

Telangana Minorities Welfare Sangham presented a memorandum to BCs Commission. Telangana Minorities Employees’ Service Association submitted a memorandum to Joint Collector of Hyderabad. Hafiz Baba Youth Welfare Association submitted a memorandum to Collector of Hyderabad. The Collector of Hyderabad assured that he would forward the memorandum to concerned authorities for taking necessary action. He also suggested that the Muslims should make a representation to BCs Commission.
